TLM-103 $650
I haven't used the TLM-103 since I originally posted this listing in 2010. The price is now $650 shipped and includes the metal case and shock mount. It is like new! I don't want to put it on ebay. I'd rather it go to a good recording home where it will get used.

Well crafted, beautiful album
I listened to your album yesterday and I think it's great! I wonder from your previous commentary if you prefer a different drum setup for every song, or was it just the circumstances? I can see a benefit to sonic variation, but I can also see a benefit to sonic consistency. Just wonder what you thi...

notes
This is the AT4050 (cardioid pattern & high pass engaged) with a Black Lion Auteur preamp in the center, with 58s for solos to either side. Bass was DI. Simple set up, seemed to work great. I'm also in the band playing guitar and lead vocals on some stuff.

BLA Sparrow MK2 Red
I ended up with the Red Sparrow MK2. Simply put, it sounds amazing. The converter I was using before was the Motu Ultralight. Now, for tracking, I'm taking signal directly from the mic preamp, to the red sparrow and into the computer via S/PDIF to optical in. This method removes software from the si...

Band Relations
While the banjo player is a novice at stage equipment, he happens to be a clinical psychologist... which would be a red flag in most situations, but this guy is even keeled and as kind as they come. And, we have a wonderful working relationship. No one took any of this stuff personally, and we are u...

Rethink Music
Found out about this conference called Rethink Music, sounded interesting, too late to go, but maybe if you are in Boston: http://www.rethink-music.com/ Read this article and liked what Nancy Baym had to say: http://thephoenix.com/Boston/music/119004-nancy-baym-rethinks-the-music-industry/ Also read...

Anyone know Eric Broucek or have an idea of the vocal chain and/or effects used?

BLA MK2 Black, Red and White
I guess I have very little interest in a DIY project... especially where converters are concerned. But, I DID put a BLA MK2 Black Sparrow on order and I can't wait to see how it sounds. I'll post a review, albeit not exactly professional.

I went with a new iMac instead of a tower and so far have been just fine...until today, when I tried to do a 96k session for a singer/guitarist and completely freaked out the system. But I know that's a pretty demanding thing to ask, so, y'know, grain of salt. If you are using Logic, experiment wit...

Macs
I've been watching apple, and wondering this too. The new iMacs are due to come out in the next month or so (according to macrumors.com). I have concluded that a brand new i7 iMac with a Thunderbolt port is future proof enough for me... probably 4 years. I tested an i3 iMac in the Apple store with L...
