Lucid AD9624, DIP-8 opamps OPA2134PA LM4562NA LUCID IS SOLD!

Lucid AD9624 two channel analog to digital converter. Great sound, hate to get rid of it but it just never gets used enough. It does have a nice scratch that you can see on the front of it on the metal near knob 1 that was there when I bought it but otherwise in great condition and works great. I'm ...

I have a set of the Truth passive models that I started mixing with. Used them quite a bit, so I became very familiar with them. Not all that bad , really. The low end is a little elusive and a bit hard to get right when mixing is the only thing I remember having trouble with, but then again I've al...

I purchased a presonus digimax 96K some years ago to expand my PTLE. The pres were a vast improvement over those found in the 002R and it doubled my i/o. I have the digimax 48k also. I think the 48k &96k are a little better than the other digimax boxes, supposedly hand built, with an external power...

Ok, here's where I can possibly offer you some advice. I've been watching this thread and there really is some good advice been given. It does make a lot of sense to spend wisely on gear that will hold it's value over time, then sell it for what you paid and invest in something else that holds it's ...

Yeah I remember when I built my boxes I had a hard time finding a power supply. I ended up building the fivefishstudios supply and it works great. A little expensive, but I use it to power 4 channels so in the end it's well worth it.

I bought a couple of these mostly for remote work but they get used quite a bit in the studio too. They seem to be very good build quality for the price and I like them a lot. Very sturdy for heavier setups. http://www.calumetphoto.com/item/MF6040/ I also made custom mounts that attach to the ceilin...

The 2 hots and a neutral are a 120/240v circuit. You could just cap off the one hot leg and use one hot and a neutral for a 120v circuit. Bond your ground lug on your receptacle to the box if it is metal, the pipe can be used as an equipment ground. Best would be to pull another green ground through...

The 8824 is a nice piece. I've always been a big fan and love how it sounds. Should be no problem clocking it externally but only does 44.1 or 48. Honestly I've never had a problem with the internal clock if you need it. I can't think of a better 8 channel converter in this price range.

The XR is probably the better choice but I figured I wouldn't need it since I'm using the Zed for conversion. Looking at buying some snakes next too. Probably go with the EWI snakes and also the EWI mic splitter boxes. There's a guy on ebay with a pile of mic split jensen tranformers right now. I mi...

I'm actually going to go with this setup- I confirmed with A&H about not needing extra clocking between the HD24 and the Zed R16 just this week. So your update was very timely- thanks! PS Shameless plug: I got stuff for sale on B/S/T. Yep, just got my HD24 yesterday. Didn't have a manual so it took...

Just an update to this thread. I just bought a HD24 to use with my Zed R16 after struggling with an older Mac Powerbook G4. Although the mac was working, I felt I needed something easier and more reliable and able to track for a decent amount of time without running into trouble. This is for a remot...

The Zed doesn't have any wordclock connections. You must use internal sync when using firewire and if you hook up adat devices you have to set it to sync externally to get it sync right with adat. At least that's the only way it would work hooking it up to a Presonus digimax preamp so I'm thinking i...

After doing all my mixing ITB the last few years I've recently purchased a Zed R16 mixer. It's really becoming not only a great way to work ( tracking through and doing mixdowns through) but I've honestly not given anything up sonically by not using my higher priced converters. I still use my better...

Nice review. I have to agree with you on almost everything you have written. I've only had mine a couple of weeks and have to say that I am overall pleased with the sonic qualities of this mixer. I might be inclined to give it some higher marks than you have. It really sounds very good to my ears. I...
