Mics are my biggest gear vice.
Same. I'm thinking I need to thin down the duplicates though (3 RE11s, 2 RE10s, probably 4 shure 545s, etc.) --maybe sell 10 to buy one or two cool and different things.

Re: Latest Gear You've Un-Acquired....

I'm giving serious thought to getting rid of about half my microphones. I have too many microphones.

Re: DI bass and guitar

winky d : I am into "heavily distorted, highly reverberant guitar" Gotta link? Skip to 3:40 in this track: https://soundcloud.com/user-109157517/breadbox . (The little solo is the only guitar in the whole song.) The bass is DI as well, but it's just run through the instrument input on my interface.

Re: DI bass and guitar

My guitar "DI" of late has been a Sound Workshop 242 Spring Reverb. Very limited range, but if you're into heavily distorted, highly reverberant guitar, it does pretty good.

RIP Bohannon

Hamilton Bohannon has passed. We came from the same town in Georgia--I would read about him in the local paper when I was growing up. Funky, underappreciated, terrific drummer & bandleader. This is not necessarily prototypical Bohannon, but it's one of my favorites: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I...

I wrote this late Wednesday, finished it up Saturday afternoon. Minimalist quarantine psychopop.

Re: Chairs?

That's a pretty solid recommendation. Thanks for your help! Thanks for the info--I'm wondering which seat size you went with. I'm 6 feet tall but with short legs for my height, so I'm waffling. None of my current chairs is as deep as the large, although they all seem to be wider than the regular. We...

Re: Chairs?

The chair you linked to above seems to be a cheaper version of the eChair from the Phantom Focus guy. We tried a pair and got rid of our Herman Miller chairs and bought 2 more. Thanks for the info--I'm wondering which seat size you went with. I'm 6 feet tall but with short legs for my height, so I'...

Re: Chairs?

Thanks for the tips so far. The Aeron seems to be the most common recommendation, and I grew up on chairs like that old Steelcase & have a nostalgic fondness for them--and they're definitely built to last. I was hoping I might hear from someone with experience with the "Stealth Studio Engineer's Cha...

Chairs?

If this quarantine has taught me anything, it's that I desperately need a new computer chair. So I promised myself that when stimulus money touched down I'd get myself a new one. Well....that day is finally here, and I come humbly to the Message Board to ask for any recommendations you all might hav...

Re: Cassette headphone out shorting...

Odds are there's a weirdness to the way the TRS & 2 TS are wired. If you have a meter that can check continuity, figure out how everything connects to every other thing. I would definitely be suspicious of the Y connector above all else.

1978 Jen SX-2000 Synthetone Analog Synthesizer. 1975 Oberheim VCF-200 Pedal - Excellent Acquisitions! I had one of the Oberheim pedals for a while & it really was awesome--the sound was great & it was far less fiddly than other VCF pedals I've used. & the Jen sounds like an amazing synth--I'm sligh...

Re: Coronavirus Plans (what are yours?)

The Reckless Country Soul 7" is a gem--apparently recorded in a hotel room if I remember the story right. I last saw the Scorchers about 3 years ago here in the ATL--Warner's just gotten better with age. He's a really remarkable guitarist.
