Help me fix this mic.

Everyone behold this amazing microphone. http://heregoesnothin.com/amp/DSCF3284b.jpg I found it in the practice room and it doesn't make a sound... http://heregoesnothin.com/amp/DSCF3289b.jpg Does that thing that looks like a strip of copper need to be soldered down somewhere? Is it missing a piece?...

Any Stones / Faces fan that doesn't know this record has a treat coming to them.
Also, it has Andy Newmark on drums.

The next one, "Now Look", is produced by Bobby Womack and it is swanky as hell.

Love both those records. Now I gotta get me some "Neck".

We did a real low-tech method. We had the mastering engineer scribe some silly in-jokes in the LP matrix, then put a note in the liner notes that said "email us with the 'secret message' and we'll send you a link to your mp3s." Not exactly the most secure method but we don't sell many records and I ...

I bought 2 nice new moving blankets at this place once for $20. Van Owners Purchasing Bureau 1035 45TH Ave Long Island City, NY 11101 (718) 361-3077 Not Greenpoint, but it's only like 3 or 4 blocks from the Queens side of the Pulaski bridge, so it's very close. The kind I got didn't have grommets; Y...

I think I used to have one of those. It belonged to my dad, who bought in in 1972 and it came with an early portable cassette deck. The tape deck, speakers and mic all packed into a big plastic suitcase. Unfortunately his 1972 batteries leaked and corroded all the guts. But the mic still worked. He ...

Salt Mastering is great.

I have heard United Record Pressing is not so great.

I also heard that the Church of Scientology outbid everybody on some old DMM lathes so that they could create audio masters that would last for all eternity.

The motor speed mod was little more involved. What I did was find one of the 2 wires going to the motor, cut it, and put a potentiometer in (don't remember the value). The problem was that all of the action on the potentiometer was on the upper end, so I added a resistor (sorry, don't remember the ...

The 4 track thing only works on actual SVHS machines and a few high end consumer decks that came out in the 80's. I have seen a few that have a little switch to go from high quality audio to regular audio. So you can record on either set of tracks. But I have only seen pro level decks that allow yo...
