Ken Kesey and his Merry Pranksters did exactly this sort of thing in the mid-60's at the Acid Tests - put mic's everywhere, loop, feedback, change speeds... AND have the Grateful Dead play at the same time.
Must've been incredible. But there's something funny about that Kool-Aid.

Re: favorite taco bell item?
1) it is very funny that we can sustain not one, but TWO separate "Taco Bell" threads. 2) when i was in college i saw a case of hamburgers being delivered to the cafeteria. the box stated "GRADE D: SUITABLE FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION" those burgers were greyish... looked the same before and after they we...

Re: favorite taco bell item?
yeah - I only eat fast food when I'm driving out west (visiting the relatives). why eat fast food in new york city? you can have any kind of food you want on almost any block. i would rather make my own vegan tacos/burritos than go to taco bell but when you're on the highway there's little choice. i...

"1" is OUT (but, as you say, it's mono & there's NO VIBRATO effect)
"2" is IN.

using 1/2" 8 track tape on 1/2" 16 track deck
Is there anything wrong with taking a 1/2" tape with 8 tracks of audio on it, erasing it on the 8 track, then using it on a 1/2" 16 track deck?
I can't think that it would be a big deal, but I've missed some obvious stuff before in my decade of crappy basement recordings!
Thanks,
Eric S.

Re: Recording a Rhodes.......
I have a Rhodes and the internal speakers are really awful. I opened up the cabinet once and they were a bit moldy. That being said, I have read about people having great success running them through Fender Deluxe or Twin Reverb guitar amps. Also, I once tried to record it thru a direct box. It soun...

Re: Analog keyboard repairs repost
Are you in NJ? I know that Dave's Sound repairs some old keyboards. They are in Whippany on Rt. 10. Their number is 973-386-5840. Tell 'em Eric Swanson sent you (not that it will get you much other than an "oh yeah I know that guy.")
