I echo most of the feelings expressed above. He changed the way I heard, listened to, and approached music. His elliptical artistry is so inspiring. On the plus side, I'm finding people who have been similarly inspired by him.

haha. Probably.

It does seem as if music often shuns and ridicules attempts at depth or meaning, more so than other art forms.

I suppose this is due to the real-world, earthy aspect of music performance.

I'll bet you'd find there's more people doing the music/band thing now, proportionally, than in the past. It's become 'a thing'...like playing sports...that kids just do.
