To be fair, the "Dell coupons" are all probably gonna show up on all of these sites, since they're offered by Dell themselves. Just pick your favorite site and go for it.
Good Luck!

Cool - thanks guys. I do have a template set up, but didn't know if the mixer settings would save (the online help for Nuendo is not the greatest in the world). I'll tried selecting all the channels and assigning, but didn't try any Shift, Alt or Ctrl combinations - I'll try that, too. I test comput...

New to mixing in the box (Nuendo 2)
Hey everyone - I'm back, I took some good friends into Bear Creek Studio (http://www.bearcreekstudio.com) this past weekend to do drum tracks for their next album and am gonna use Nuendo, instead of my HDR 24/96 (since we'll end up with >24 tracks, I'm sure). One thing I can't figure out is how to a...

Re: Distortion & stuttering playing back WAVs w/MOTU 240
God, I'm such a moron. The BIOS was still set to 'none' for the Primary IDE slave (which the D: drive is). I set it to 'auto' and life is good.
Man, I should have totally remembered to change that setting in the BIOS.

Re: Distortion & stuttering playing back WAVs w/MOTU 240
And, right on cue, the stuttering playback has returned. However, I copied the .wav file from the D: drive to the C: drive and it works JUST FINE. I checked the D: drive and it's set to PIO mode. Well, it's not set to 'PIO only', but 'use DMA if available'. But it's using PIO mode. Wonder what's up ...

Re: Distortion & stuttering playing back WAVs w/MOTU 240
Yeah, you're 100% right. It uses a firewire cable, so I was thinking that it used a 1394 interface. Imagine my surprise when I tried to revert my 1394 drivers back to the SP1 versions and found that I didn't have any on my machine. :) Oh well. Today I paved the machine, reinstalled Win XP SP1 and th...

Re: Distortion & stuttering playing back WAVs w/MOTU 240
Bought it used.
Looking around, I think there's an issue with Win XP SP2 and firewire devices......
I'm going to downgrade my 1394 host drivers back to the SP1 versions and see what happens. I'll let you know.

Re: Distortion & stuttering playing back WAVs w/MOTU 240
Thanks for the reply! I do have the latest drivers; I downloaded the latest installer package from their site before I got started. Re: buffer setting. I was set to 1024 samples (2nd highest) and tried upping that to 2048 (the highest). That didn't change anything, however. Besides, I have an Athlon...

Distortion & stuttering playing back WAVs w/MOTU 2408 Mk
Whenever I try and play back any audio from my computer via the 2408 Mk3 (even playing a simple .WAV in media player), the audio is stuttery and distorted. Not like the sound from bad clocking (even happens if I use the 2408's internal clock). If I watch a WAV play in media player (or Wavelab), ever...

Charlotte, N.C. folks.... I'm looking for some old friends.
Sorry for the OT post..... I lived in Charlotte from 1990 - 1994 and played in a band called "Grass Appeal" (yeah, I know....) and in 1994 I moved to WA state. The drummer and guitarist went on to form "It Could Be Nothing" ( http://artists.cltonline.com/icbn/ ) and I lost touch with them a little w...

Re: Gear Repairs in the NW
Also try Audio Works, (206) 405-4086. Not sure exactly what they repair, though.... but might be worth a phone call. They made me a couple of snakes and said they'd be able to help me with some MTR-90 maintenance. I ended up buying another machine, so I didn't end up taking them up on the offer. -mark

Joelpatterson and Spark, That is some funny shit. Now THERE'S a reality show I'd watch! And I'd be all about William Shatner hanging out at The Milestone club!
