Best studio power amp like Hafler P3000

Ok so I'd like opinions on a solid power amp probably something used. I just got a HAFLER P3000 for $300 but it had a bad buzz on channel 2 and the clip led stayed on no matter the input volume. So I got to return it... This is the 3rd P3000 that I know of with problems. I know it's old so it happen...

Yeah I noticed that about the DMP3... I read that thread but wanted to see what this forum had to say... I always thought the Folcrom was a great idea. This seems like the same thing but cheaper!

Vintage Maker "Little One" Passive summing box

I wanted to see if I could get you guys to give some opinions on this summing box. http://vintagemaker.site50.net/little24db25trs.html Very simple design. Quality wise how does this size up against the Rolls Folcrom? I know the Folcrom has panning options but I really do not need that. I would proba...

It's quite possible the pair I am use to working with have been upgraded. I'll have to ask. But I def do not experience any loss of low end that is noticable. But yes I do notice a slight filtering off some highs. Im ok with that especially when mixing or tracking to Pro Tools.

Im surprised Joel. I think they kill on drums. Rock vocals too. I guess they might not be the best choice for a clean r&b vocal but I think they work well for most things... Lot's of THHacck...

I didn't know that. Though I don't know about Drumagog 5, but the export to midi function never really seemed very accurate when I attempted to use it that way. Drum Tracker can export midi from a stereo audio drum loop and separate all the drum hits accurately including cymbals and hi-hats.. It's p...

The best thing I have found for this is Toontracks "Drum Tracker". It will take audio and convert it to midi. Then you can export the midi to something like EZ Drummer or Superior Drummer. Or Logic or whatever. Then resequence the feel if you want. Superior Drummer is really "real" sounding. Takes a...

If you are using a multi-sampled snare gog then it will have multiple samples to call on depending on velocity and settings. So the answer is basically yes it will give a more real natural sound since it uses multiple samples...

Its really just Bova behind drummer shoulder high I guess. Maybe more to the right then center. LDC 3ft out chest high pointed at the kick somewhat. Not a lot of science. Panned center. These are room mics. The Magic is Joel's experience. Try low and or high passing these....

Hey I got a crazy deal on the R144 brand new $40. So I removed the extra mesh and took off the protective material on both sides of the ribbon. There doesnt seem to be any sag issues. I saw a thread that said some thing about using a rubber band or something to minimize vibration. Do you mean a tigh...

I swear the old EV RE55's (slim long pencil like dynamics) are the best thing I have ever tried on rock cymbals! I bet they would kill on lot's of other styles as well. Maybe not Jazz but who know?

Hello, I have been really interested in the Folcrom, especially the idea of using multiple Folcroms. I don't post much but I wanted to say a few things. I worked in a studio with an SSL 4000 G console for many years. Most clients did not have much of a budget so ITB mixing was done about 90% of the ...
