Yes i Have done that. That is in the routine of recording drums for me. It didn't change much but make things a little different. I Liked them in phase more.

Well i made one. it took a whole ten minutes. And i'm pretty happy with the results. it makes a fuzzy noise around 500 hz. but i just cut it out with an eq and it sounds pretty good. it will come in handy. thanks for every ones advice and ideas.

Oh have. I spent like two days. I don't have an omni. also the room sounds terrible. the highs are super piercing and harsh. and when I eq them out i don't like. Thus the mic being so close. I got it in a place where I like the balance of the cymbal hi hat and snare. My kit is only those and a kick.
