I ponied up for a decent in/out and bought the MOTU ultralight mk3. Seems like it can do a lot, but the manual is pretty miserable at walking me through output routing -- I can't do it! I can only get things to come out the MAIN Outs.
Anyone know of a good tutorial?
Thanks!

External Monitor weirdness when audio plays
Hi, Using an external monitor with my laptop, and every time I run audio out my Edirol UA-25EX, all these lines appear on the screen. I tried moving the interface away from the monitor, but it actually seems to be my laptop creating the interference. Not sure what to do, since there's only so far I ...

I'm currently hitting the limits of my M-Audio Firewire 410. Bought it because it was cheap and had lots of outputs and two headphone outputs, but the preamps/controls aren't that great, and there is always having to put my comp. to sleep before plugging it in/out.. I've been looking for a new box t...

Trilogy on PC for Mac?
Hello, I used to run Ableton Live 6 on my PC Laptop, and used Spectrasonics's Trilogy as a plugin. Trilogy lives on my desktop, so I used FX Teleport to access it via ethernet. No problems there, worked like a charm. I am currently running Ableton Live 6 on my Intel Mac. I dl'd ipMIDI to connect the...

Switching from PC to OS X
Finally getting rid of the crappy Dell I've been trying to record on now I've inherited an almost-new MacBook (2 ghx Intel Core Duo, 2GB RAM). I am still swimming around in the shallow end, trying to get up to speed on this OS. I do have some questions I was hoping folks might have answers to, as I ...

Building an MP3 Controller
Hey.. We use Mp3 players as our rythm/synth section, so we're looking to adapt the crappy controllers they came with into heavier-duty footswitches, to be able to turn them on and off without scurrying around on stage. Any idea where one could find schematics for something like that (the Dell DJ or ...

Cubase Panning Problem
Hey..
I'm having a problem mixing in Cubase SX.. When I try to pan either the guitar or bass partially left/right, the sounds gets choppy and cuts up and down in volume. When I hard it pan either way it sounds fine. Has anyone else had this problem? What do I do?
Thanks,
J

Re: External Hard Drive froze my Windows 2000!
I'd read, on this board among places, that Win2K was much better than XP because it used less resources - less bells and whistles, all that... I wound up having to reinstall the OS for another reason, and it fixed the problem.. otherwise, I haven't found too much to complain about...

External Hard Drive froze my Windows 2000!
Hey..
I just recently decided to chuck XP in favor of Windows 2000, but every time I turn on my Acom USB 2.0 Hard Drive, the system grinds to a halt, and won't reboot until I turn it off. I checked the website, and there aren't any drivers or anything for Win2K... Any suggestions?
Thanks,
J

Drummer and/or utility player wanted for CT Indie Rock band
VOYAGE OF THE UNABOMBER has a guitarist/bassist/singer and a bassist/guitarist/singer already. We would like other people to join the band - a drummer would be key, and perhaps an additional person who can play a variety of instruments. Influences: Pixies, Dillinger Four, Interpol, Flaming Lips, Bui...

I'm not sure I follow, although it sounds like a rad idea...
What exactly is being shared? How does one capture the "reverb" of a room for use by someone else?

WANTED: Reference Amplifier
Hey... I've got all the pieces together, except for a nice reference amplifier I can use between my computer and reference monitors... Looked on Ebay, where everything was WAY too powerful... I just need something that will put out 100-150 watts on two channels at 4 ohms... Anybody? Any suggestions?...

Hello.. A friend and I have been reading TapeOp for some time now, and are finally making the upgrades to put something serious together.. Now that we're making the commitment to spend a bunch of money, I'd really liek to get every dollar's worth. Obviously things like cords are important, but is th...
