OH, understood on that one. I'm covering my gear. I'm just saying for liability, so if some genius trips on his shoe laces and decides to sue the place.. That is on the guy who owns the place. I'm not currently the one taking care of the grounds. I'm just grabbing coverage for fire, theft, Acts of G...

Thanks guys, Think I have it sorted out. Had a local agent looking around for me. Luckily, the way our arrangement is at the studio, I don't have to worry about liability. The studio is on private property, and the owner has all his stuff, and liability covered already. So I just have to worry about...

I think at the moment all I'd have to offer is a bag of change and maybe a couple of old ADAT machines.

As I said, only played with it for an hour or so. I always thought they were very cool units... I've known many people who have said its always nice to have a couple in the rack. I'll play around with it a bit more. See if I can get a feel for it. Also, isn't the FMR RNC supposed to be pretty nice?

So, I recently had a buddy loan me an ART from his studio. I threw it on a buss mix and was not terribly happy. On a bus I was having headroom issues. It just topped out super easy, and I mix with a fair bit of headroom, usually have to bring it up in my 2 bus a bit to hit -6db. It also sounded a bi...

Insuring gear. Ideas?

Hey guys, So, I have a lot of my own gear sitting around the studio I've been renting. Would love to get it insured. Problem is I'm having trouble finding someone who will actually give me a price point less than full coverage on my car... Which is a bit too high. Getting a little frustrated at this...

Sweetness.
Sounds like a good starting point... I probably need to buy a 500 series chassis first...

Well, have a list as long as my arm of mics I need to send in and get serviced/repaired first. Once maintenance is done then I get to worry about messing with wiring. So excited.

The kemper is expensive. But if you plan on having more than one good amp.. then the price point is suddenly very convenient. I'm half tempted to save up and get one for the studio. Anytime someone comes in with an amp I like I would just sample it. This thing was the first unite that really convinc...

Don't think it's been brought up yet. But thoughts on the Kemper? Got to play around with one of those once.. Holy proper sampling batman. Had it sampling a twin reverb we had in the room. Were switching back in forth. Aside from the sound of the switching back and forth the thing was spot on.

I've used the h4n quite a bit for film stuff. Great unit for the price. Not perfect by any means. But for the price, heck yeah.

I havent researched multitrack portable units too much outside of film stuff, but there are things like this around:
