another technique is to find a large room and play the tracks through your monitors on one side with mics set up on the other.

he states very clearly numerous times that this mic is a replica. dont see a problem.

if a plug becomes intermittent, there's nothing keeping you from cutting it off and replacing it with a new, better one. just cut, strip the insulation back, and replace it with a neutrik or switchcraft...
