Re: SHUTUP AHHHHHHHHH
Im not sure you'd have such an easy time finding people to describe the numetal turntable power chord (you left out dropped tuned 7 string) rap as ROCK MUSIC, but regardless, we, the people of this message board, and I'm sure I can speak for the the people at the "stupid magazine" kind enough to hos...

Re: other recording magazines that you guys read?
Im not a kiss fan, I just dont get it. But man, I do stand in awe of the marketing machine. Last interview I heard that Eddie Trunk (biggest kiss fan on planet earth possibly) did with Gene, they were talking about licensing kiss as a whole and just hiring musicians to go out and play the shows, bas...

Re: Strangest Studio Techniques U Ever Used?
there was a tapeop article on MBV, I think. highlights mentioned 24 tracks of vocals, drawmer compression, moving into the studio and spending years on the record. I think in the big picture, to make a record like loveless, you more or less have to be born with the intention of doing so, I dont thin...

Gene Simmons' "toungue"
funniest magazine ever.
that guy, man, where to even begin with that guy...
It's sorta like the now defunct Pop Smear, which ruled, except Gene is on every page, almost literally.

Re: your song on the radio
I cant possibly understand how ron and fez were generating less money for that station than the new manure they are shoveling. Its all sterns fault. All the FM talk in LA is on one station, and ohh, big suprise, it does well. The whole situation in NYC with that was doomed from the start. Argh. one ...

Re: Where to buy -db pads in L.A.?
Location sound corp in burbank or coffey sound usually have doodads like that in stock on the floor. The shure pads really arent that cheap though, if you can make them yourself, it will cost you maybe $10 max if you put it in a barrel connector, but time is money, so...

Re: your song on the radio
my brother is the PD at a well known college radio station in NY. Ive been hearing this moaning for years, and greanted, its a lot to moan about. I think the bottom line to a lot of this is that people, for the most part just dont care about radio, not at all. Its what they get when they get in thei...

Re: Kick Drum
trodden- Ive got one of those evans heads on my kick now, the ones that have the rings that slide in on the outside of the head. I dont like it at all for what I do with my own band. Its definitely got a clickly plastic type of sound to it, which is good when you want it, but I havent ben able to tu...

Re: Huge, incredible sounding records.
As much of a Bill Botrill fan as I am, I think that really it was Tchad Blake that made sheryl crow a superstar. That second record really put her on the map. the record that followed was great, but the last one, with its succint combination of auto tune on a singer who definitely DID NOT need it an...

Re: your song on the radio
man, that has been going on for 30 years. Granted, radio is at all time suckdom, but so long as business own radio stations, PD's will find away around whatever nonsense the FCC hands them, or they'll keep firing PD's until they hire one that can. Fighting this kind of thing sounds all cool on paper...

Re: Huge, incredible sounding records.
shellac "at action park" is another great example of how good a rock band can sound. I need to give that space shuttle record a second chance. Tchad Blake is one of many many engineers on the record, but he mixed all of it. Its the self titled second record, Sheryl Crow, the front cover is a black a...

Huge, incredible sounding records.
Has anyone heard Buddy Guy "Sweet Tea"? I keep forgetting how good this record sounds. The first time I heard it, this dude played it for me and I said "holy, this is the carziest sounding thing I have heard in a while" and the dude looked at me and said, "yeah, thats what I said when I first heard ...

Holy shit Eric, you've got to be kidding! Ive been waiting for someone to come up with a solution to the wurlitzer preamp since about the third day after I got my first wurlitzer. Are you keeping the tremelo circuit exactly the same? both of the preamps in the rhodes and the solid state wurlitzer re...
