Question- Are you willing to spend that 800 on the ASP from Audient? If so, have you considered maybe selling the Apollo Twin and use that money plus your budgeted 800 to get the Apollo 8 channel unit? The silverface one can probably be had used for within your budget.

FS: AKG c414 B-ULS with mount- PA

Selling an AKG C414 B-ULS with the h100 shock mount. This mic is in perfect working condition. Only issue, outside of normal cosmetic condition, is the clip for the hi pass filter is broke off, so you need a paper clip to move it. The functionality is there, it is just the switch that no longer exis...

FS: Online or in SE Pennsylvania: Oktava MK219 (Russion Ver)

I have (2) Oktava MK219 mics for sale, purchased in 2005 by me, used very lightly in that time. These are the Russian versions, not the Chinese versions. They are in 100% perfect working order and include the soft padded bag with them as well as the clip for them. Willing to sell in a pair or indivi...

You should contact Glen Farracone, who runs The Music Centre in Exton, right on 113, near 100. He should steer you in the right direction.

This is a great topic. I struggled with the same issue with my CAPI preamps. I have two 312's and a 25 and a 26, all 4 for drums. I notice when you really drive the input that it gives a very crunchy, compressed sound. Useable in some instances, but not many. A meter would be great, but I have been ...

thanks for all the replies thus far, everyone. Monitors are certainly an area I need to upgrade. I want to make sure I upgrade to a really good set, as opposed to a medium range or low end set. The drums individually translate with my overheads pretty well, nice spread, good definition (I am a drumm...

Thanks guys! Yeah, I am not unhappy about my recordings. Actually, I have noticed that since I got my 414 a month ago and since I really dialed in my overheads (mk12s), I am pretty darn happy. The bad part is that it has made my weaker links show a little bit more. I have always been under the impre...

Thoughts on next upgrade

First off- this is a great forum. I do not always have a chance to follow up (two jobs, wife, todler), so I do apologize, but I read everything when I do ask questions and it is extremely helpful. I am currently curious on what you would focus on upgrading next (for tracking DRUMS). I do drums mainl...

Which 2 to keep?

Hi guys- need to sell 2 of the following. Just need the cash right now and I rarely use all 4 of these mics right now, but I know I want to keep 2 of them, just for the fact that they are LDC's. I have 2 Oktava Mk-219's and 2 Oktava Mk-319's, which are pretty close to the same mic, with the capsule ...

After trying tons of headphones, I stumbled upon these over at Shawn Pelton's studio. I tracked with them there and fell in love and bought 2 pair. http://www.gk-music.com/ultraphones.htm is the site. Really, really good cans. Highly suggest.
