Thanks fellas! Nice to have a little reassurance & the tips are quite welcomed. I've always done a drop or two of 3 in 1 oil in all the lugs once or twice a year when changing heads/cleaning...vaseline is a good one though. Gregg - I was wondering if anyone would catch the hair! ewww. :kotzen: Perha...

Attn. Drummers - 1964 Ludwig Restoration (need advice)

So as the title states I'm starting a restoration project on three 1964 Ludwig 3 ply with re-ring mahogany shells (keystone badges but no parts/hardware) in 14x22, 9x13 & 14x16...couldn't believe I found a 64 kit with a 14x16 floor! Edges are good, black diamond pearl wrap is a little faded on the k...

Met with Tim today & bought the Sytek. Great communication & super easy transaction. Unit is home, tested & everything sounds/works great. Just wish I had bread for the R84.

Thanks Tim.

Bryston Success Story

Just wanted to let fellow tomb members know about the service I just received from Bryston. I own a 3BST amp I bought used a year & a half or so ago. It stopped working a couple weeks ago so I contacted Bryston service via email, got a form letter on how & where to ship it, that there would be a $75...

I have an auroa 8 and a tone pilot....so sweet. I'd like to hook up that and the main outs of pro tools, so I can hear the actual d/a from the lynx while mixing....and the output of the 003 for tracking without latency. I think the adcom and some axioms may be in my future. Should work great! I've ...

For all of you with power amps, like the adcom, what are you using to control your volume level to the speakers. Directly from the daw, or some passive(or powered) monitor controller? With my 3bst (as well as the RA500 I'm borrowing) I'm using one of those tc electronic Level Pilot knobs...Reaper -...

+1 on the B&W DM602's. I have a set of 602 Series 2's I bought used on http://www.audiogon.com/ & are my main monitors...love them. There's currently a set of Series 1's on there http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?spkrmoni&1290214813&/B-w-dm602-s1-Speakers-with-spe . I use mine with a Bryston 3B...

I love my 4033, it was one of my first condensers & I still use it on nearly every session. I prefer it on bass cabs, upright paired with a dynamic, acoustic guitar paired with a dynamic or ribbon, room mic & I find it works great for some female or high register/falsetto male vocals. I recently hav...

As far as plugins go, I've found the "Bionic Delay" quite useful & easy to use...scroll down the page:

WTB Sytek MPX 4Aii

Had one a while back, got a console & sold the Sytek, moved to a smaller room & sold the console. I've got a few transformer based 500 series pres & now I'm in need of several fast, clean, high gain pres with a small footprint & thus missing the Sytek. BB's...no BB's...makes no difference to me. Ple...
