Re: Useful room/ambience reverb from M3000, Lexicon 300, RMX

The options I have available are a TC M3000, Lexicon 300, or AMS RMX 15. I'd like to save some time of shuffling through hundreds of patches...so if anyone is familiar with these units and knows of a preset that would be a good starting point for a room sound for acoustic instruments, I'd appreciat...

3 years is nothing. Regarding the clip. I would start by turning the guitars (nice sound) down. They absolutely take over the mix and are burying everything else. Regarding the decision to keep going at it. Sometimes it's when shit really pisses you off that it will push you to the next level. Some ...

There was an engineer who used to work out of Normandy Sound in Rhode Island who could only hear out of one ear who has many gold and platinum records with his mix credit on them.

Once a tape is baked, the contents on it are only usable for a very limited time.

I wouldn't count on being able to use them to record on again.

Standalone building - no other tenets except a photographer who rents space from me - private parking. Used to be a block from Fenway park in a 6 floor slumlord building - parking ticket hell - good times.

One thing to keep in mind is that with any mp3 coded at 192 and lower, usually everything above 16 kHz will be pretty much non existent. With 256 and 320 kbps anything above 18K will be gone. You can verify this with a frequency analyzer. If the files haven't been limited, you should be good to go b...

You'll be in good company with Mytek, Burl, Lavry and others.

Do you have a way to audition any of these at your own facility?

That is probably the best way to see what will work out best for you.

Good suggestions so far. I use the Dorrough A's and love them even though they are not "real" Vu's.
