Check out the Foote P3s. which is right at your budget but can also be found used. Versatile piece that will bring something to the table in the mastering context as well as tracking and mixing. The Daking and Drawmer stuff shines more in tracking and mixing, but ime doesn't deliver for mastering. I...

I had a 900 series with the pre-amp pedal so it was easy to run guitar or whatever through it as well. Usually miced the highs with a stereo pair of 414's or similar (1 or 2 feet back) and blended in a mono 421 for the bass. Some times add stereo room. For Reggae, you need a pretty defined bass for ...

I think if it's a choice between a nice amp collection verses a Kemper, the amp collection is the better asset for the studio if you're wanting to attract outside bands/artist to produce and record. Where does it stop? ..drum samples, amp profiling, console/tape emu's, autotune, quantizing, blah, ....

was looking for info before pulling the trigger on selling. Info enough to avoid: A) being lowball bait B) setttng the price ridiculously high and scaring off reasonable buyers. You can see what they're selling for by looking at "Completed Items" on ebay. The ones with the price in green have sold ...

Re: Save Often!
Working on a drum 2-mix, 1.5 hours, daughter turned on vacuum cleaner and power, despite a UPC, dipped - computer shit the bed and I lost the track. That seems like a pretty severe voltage swing, considering you had a uninterruptible power supply. Most will have a voltage regulator built in..
