Re: Looking for someone to mod my Soundcraft 200B Console NYC

I'm going to be honest here and suggest the ONLY mod worth doing on these boards is the Eddie Celetti ground mod...maybe check for some capacitors that might need replacing especially on the master bus but beyond that the change in sonics by replacing opamps is purely a "buyers bias" experience in m...

Your kinda mixing oranges with orangutans...two distinct branches of DIY and when it comes to A/D conversion there really isn't a lot of diy stuff out there since it is mostly based around chipsets. You could conceivably pick up a TI PCM 4222 Eval board and hook it up to some kind of preamp, be it o...

Not sure why you think the ultralite does not do wordclock sync, you can choose "external" on the page value button, then I think it automatically syncs via spdif. Because when I say "word clock" I specifically mean "the standard BNC connector that can drive or receive word clock." I realize that i...

Or you can use the software to do the same thing. Spdif sends header info/and contains clock data if told to see it, its simply a matter...

By the way...I don't prescribe to the notion that ALL tants are bad...Neve, Yamaha, Urei, Studer, to name a few used them all over the place, heck look at some of the Nuemann/Telefunken pre's tants abound... My approach is...make sure the psu is properly isolated/schemed...then turn the sucker on.....

Gonna get rid of all that tantalum after the smock goes on?? I am going to recap...just as a matter of antiquity...but my level of knowledge on this suggest that the issue of tantalum caps is probably reduced considerably by a good psu, the power supply rails/scheme will have more to do with noise ...

SO I built my extra mnats psu and powered this thing up, it is all discrete opamp design, tons of gain. Took out the channel strips that were just for the carts and tapes, will look at those later, gold tipped modules, not to hard to build may try to put a neve stylee module in here... Cinemag input...

Actually guys I realized that I HAVE a -+24 dual PSU left over from my mnats board, all I need is a trafo for it.

The signal to noise ratio between what i know and what I do is unbearable at times.
