ptx to ptf
http://www.mediafire.com/?mpkz45rzre7vxza this link is for a ptx file. if anyone out there can convert it to a ptf file and email it to l.vis [at] sbcglobal.net you would get a fairy dusting of good karma. did not know 10 was not backwards compatible and just learned the hard way! i'm in version 9.

Damaged .wav (only one) in a session in PT8, no idea why
This has happened twice on the same rig in the past month.. session is in progress, tracking a guitar overdub with multiple takes, get what we need, save the sesssion, close, move on to another song, finish, go back to the original session that same day and get a message that one audio file can't be...

opening a mac formatted drive session on a PC?
so i was in a conversation with an engineer friend the other night getting hipped to a program you can install on a PC so it will recognize mac formatted drives... this is awesome news to me because I use mac formatted drives instead of FAT32 or other formatting because I've heard it's safer for you...

buying the cheapest working backup battery for a mac G5
went to the store to buy a backup battery for the studio mac G5, expecting to spend around 50 bucks (only looking to get about three min. to save and shut down in a power outage, so figured go cheap) and the store clerk said for a G5 you gotta get the 250 dollar ones because of the power required by...

pro tools session files mac/pc compatability
hey a dumb question here, but i've never tried transferring mac to pc and i think i'm gonna pick up an mbox 2 this week so i can work on some projects i've tracked on a mac. Do pc's easily read and open pro tools session files? Usually I just export all the wav files and open them with cubase, but t...

Sonar 7 recording 24 bit questions...
ok so a few years ago i switched to cubase because anytime i tried setting sonar to record 96 khz/24 bit it would give me a message that my soundcard didnt support this and revert back to 44.1/16bit as "suggested by the driver"... however cubase would let me switch to 96/24 no problem on the same so...

USB Mic immediate playback at the wrong speed
Ok here's one I've never dealt with before... a friend of mine bought a USB microphone at my recommendation, as he is a non musical/recording background guy who writes lyrics and wants to practice putting them to music tracks on his computer with Cakewalk Sonar 7... so he bought a Nady Audio USB Mic...
