I've always liked and had good luck with Kendrick Blackframes. I have had 10" + 12" in various amps. More for blues and classic rock type stuff though.

So far I really like it. The only LDC I had before was an MXL V57M so I don't have much to compare it to. I have done some vocals with it (female singer) and it did very well. I have just started to play with it for guitar and that led to this question.

Thanks, I saw what the mic could take but I did not know how many decibels the amp/amps may put out. I don't have a meter and have not had any recording experiance other than my basement so I don't have any frame of referance to know if the amp could hurt the mic.
