I don't mean to hijack your thread but I've got an M-Audio Tampa for sale here. It really is a nice pre and has a very nice compressor also. If you look up the Tampa it always seems to get good reviews. I now have API, Great River and Vintech pres and I don't have enough I/O's and find myself not us...

Sounds pretty good to me. So what mics were used and where?

Edit: I just found your other post so please don't feel the need to answer unless something has changed in the setup.

Thanks

I'm always up for a beer or two but don't know how much I'd add to the conversation. I am very much a home studio guy. Let me know if you get any more takers and I'm in if you get it going.

Prior to this forum going down like it did I was 99% TapeOp and 1% Gearslut but while TapeOp was down I really got through the fear of Gearslutz and am now probably 50/50. TapeOp is much easier to deal with but Gearslutz has so many more people posting. Really if you have a questioin about an API pr...

Question for Larry Crane (or anybody) about RTZ 9762

I read the review in TapeOp on this unit and have heard very little else about it. I have talked to the guys at Atlanta Pro Audio about it a little and they have said that it is basically a clone of the Great River MP-2NV. Is it? You have it listed on your website and in your ads for Jackpot! so I w...

Re: John Bonham hour

That's a great photo. I've never seen that one. Is that mic in front of the kit falling off the stand when the photo was taken? Re: OSA or any external pre questions - help!

Will, what are you using the 1/4" input for?...Going back through a padded input of the Aardvark is making everything sound more like the Aardvark too...i.e. Aardvark preamp to Aardvark line input versus OSA preamp through padded Aardvark mic input (that's essentially all it is apparently, it sound...

Re: OSA or any external pre questions - help!

Distorted guitar can be misleading in checking pre's against each other. Try a single mono drum room mic. I always hear crazy differences in preamps when I switch the room mics between different ones. Acoustic guitar and singing will also give you some better material to hear a difference. 20/20's ...
