Thanks for all that input.
Cat and Mouse. With the software, hardware, and OS. I know about the chart, but sometimes I just someone else to tell. lol. I haven't done any of this yet. I swept it under the rug to work on other things during the pandemic.
Thanks again.

Re: Pro Tools 2019 Perpetual or Subscription?
I'd love to stick with PT 11. but I am running mountain lion, and I cant upgrade to El Capitan, or something a little newer, (but not Mojave because PT 11 isn't compatable) (i don't trust buying an installer on ebay or something like that) or anything else that will run 11. But I can't get my Apollo...

Pro Tools 2019 Perpetual or Subscription?
I just bought a new (used) Macbook Pro. mid-2014. My old laptop was a mid 2012. I have been running Pro tools 10/11, since Feb. of 2014. I have some newer hardware I'd like to start using (First gen Apollo, specifically). So I want to upgrade my new computer to a new version of Pro Tools. I'm just n...

Re: First gen Apollo/Macbook Pro/Pro Tools 11
The Apollo's software I downloaded from UA wasn't supported with 10.8, Mountain Lion. That what started me off on this new search for the sweet spot. Maybe there is legacy software for the Apollo??? Then I can go back to my 10.8.5 Mountain Lion, if I can find a way to get the Apollo to behave with i...

First gen Apollo/Macbook Pro/Pro Tools 11
I need to figure out a legacy OS version (macBook Pro mid 2012) that my first gen Apollo is compatible with, as well as Pro Tools 11. And then, I need to figure out how to get that legacy OS. Can anyone help me figure it out? I was running PT10, with Mountain Lion, with a Digi002. I've upgraded to a...

Re: how do i hook up my used UA Apollo to my Mac????
so what you're saying is you believe that my computer could handle the OS update, and then I can update PT, and then use the up-to-date software for the Apollo. Ive just heard so many stories about updating the laptops and them not working... I heard this about my girlfriend's laptop, an employee fo...

how do i hook up my used UA Apollo to my Mac????
MacBook Pro 13 inch, Mid 2012 OS Version: 10.8.5 Processor: 2.9 Ghz Intel Core i7 Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDr3 I've already downloaded the current version of their software.(9.5) Of course, this current version isn't going to play nice with my operating system. I've kept things at 10.8.5 so PT10 could...

Andy, check this link out to the manual: http://www.wikirecording.org/PreSonus_DigiMax_LT_Manual#Insert_Jacks_As_Analog_Outputs_Example_1 Doesn't this mean the inserts can be used in this fashion? What you are saying though, is that if the unit could be used as a DAC, an option for it would come up ...

digimax LT, how do i get the inserts to act as analog output
I know about the modified cables i need. What i cannot figure out, is how to route stems (weather its through buses or main outputs) out of the DigiMax LT. I try to use ADAT 1, but it doesn't work. I don't have the modified cable, but i tried another method, using the insert cable, and letting one o...

I have the DigiMax LT, light pipe thing, but it doesn't have outs, just ins. It's got insert points for each channel, and the manual says I can modify TRS cables to make them work as outputs, but i guess my knowledge on that is slim... S/pdif box as a mainoutput could work. Any suggestions on modles...

using a mixing board with pro tools
Well i finally cleaned my Studiomaster 16x4x2, but while doing it i hooked up this Alesis 24 deal up. I dunno if i was just having so much fun using a mixing board that i don't care about how shitty the Alesis sounds, but i'm finding it that using it has really turned my ears onto my recordings. For...
