Open it up and trace the cable(s) coming from the vibrato knobs on your amp panel. Trace the circuit and see what tube it's all going to. Don't touch anything inside until you drain the filter caps, or measure to see that there is no voltage. Alternatly, pull out tubes one by one. If you loss reverb...

the 1600 I have as a selectable q eq for three bands. Actually pretty versitile, and very smooth high end. The bottom tends to be a little murky, but It's a pleasant murkiness. I havn't heard the eq section with new caps, so I'm going off of what I heard with original caps.

long time subscriber of the SW board, but I havn't posted much lately. first off, I know very little about electronics, but I fancy the idea of racking up my 1600 modules into a managable 2-4 u space plus power supply. My pre has a transformer that brings it into spec (correct me if I'm wrong tech h...

revox

I have a revox and it does 15 ips and 7.5. Simple to use machine. more portable than a monster teac. I just use the same reel and dub it into digital after each take.

I'm not against cutting out an op-amp if there is a better replacement. I assume there is something else making the circuit noisy though

Presonus Blue Tube

Hey folks. I have one of these units. It's noisy and basically useless to me right now. I want to do a couple of things. I want to replace the tube, but I also want to fuck with the circuit. Anyone had any luck with these? At worst, I'll send it to Matt at Black Lion, but since it is not a unit I'm ...

born to run is pretty epic. I would have prefered a little less production, but I think in a way, the production makes the album very American. One qualm, worst buzz roll ever at the beginning of 10th ave. Freeze out. Jesus, that's a loose snare Max.

Why not save up another 5k and get a Neve Kelso mixer? It's 8 or 10 channels, and you get Neve Eq's and mic pre's! Or up the ante another 5K and get this http://www.mil-media.com/docs/products/mixingsuite.shtml Check out the Chandler Limited as well (Abbey Road Schematics used for their design.) or...

use it for rehearsals. You can listen back, and mix whatever turns out good to your hard disk. then you can use the same tape for the next rehearsal.

Recording old records to Hard Disk

I'm going to convert a bunch of records to digital because a client of mine wants to hear his classic records. I'm going to run three records at a time though various pre-amps. My question is, what kind of record needle is good for just playback (i.e., no intensive DJ scratching), but is also cost e...

if you can sneak into a studio with a plate, you can make yer own altiverb IR. otherwise, I think UAD has done that with the vintage plates at the plant in sausolito.
