8 Channel D/A Converter with S/MUX
Evening Tape Op-ers, So I'm on the hunt for another bit of kit... I want/need a simple 8-Channel D/A converter with S/MUX capable ADAT inputs. Basically something like the brilliant Aphex 141, but with S/MUX. I'm moving all my gear around and looking at getting an RME Fireface 800 and I want to have...

2-Channel D/A Converter
Afternoon Tape Op-ers, I've been wanting to get a 2-channel d/a converter to plug into the s/pdif output of my Digi002r for ages now. I use my my Digi002r it with the Furman HDS-16 headphone system and I want to be able to use all 16 outputs with the furman and then use the s/pdif output from the di...

Focusrite ISA 828
Does anyone know whether the line inputs on these things pass through the transformers? Focusrite is reluctant to say so I'm doubtful! No schematics came with the manual so I can't find out easily.
Many thanks,
Jimmy

Joel, definitely go for an iMac, they're brilliant! I agree entirely with Crocoduck5000 as well, you're gonna want that extra RAM and you'll be glad of an Apple warranty. Haven't used the MOTO I'm afraid. I used to run pro tools from just an MBox and an old iBook 1.42GHz and I managed to get by, I t...

Hah, yeah the website does that. The guy who designed it (a good friend of mine) designed it for use with safari and internet explorer and was left scratching his head after Firefox decided it didn't like it! If you go here: http://www.masterlinkproductions.co.uk/iWeb/newsite/Team.html you can acces...

What was Andy talking about in Tape Op #72?
Hi All, In Andy's Gear Geeking column in Tape Op #72 he mentions a 'special version' of Pro Tools 7.3 that allows him to run the full 32 I/O from his ProFire Lightbridge. No my eyebrows hit the ceiling when I read this and I've been trying to track down this version for a while... has anyone success...

After thorough testing, I have realised it is just the two stereo channels that have imbalanced L-R. The channels weren't designed for my version of the 10-4-2 and if you were to look at the rear connections you would see the inputs for the stereo line channels are in fact the same as the mono mic c...

The Scum, thank you for all your advice. Both stereo channels do exhibit the same symptoms but sadly don't have direct outs. They DO however have inserts so I'll give them a go a bit later (it's 2AM over here and I'm going to bed!) I'm content with having the pan pot slightly off centre for now :) R...

Basscakes, it's interesting you say about reseating the module a couple of times. I did wonder if it was anything to do with the internal buss connections. I had an A&H GS3V a while back here each module was connected by a very shoddy ribbon cable that if not seated perfectly meant the PFL and most ...

Hello mate, thanks for coming back. Please see here for the schematic: (link removed) (The meters are at the far right hand side.) Amek/TAC Bullet Master Section Problem
Hi all, I have a lovely little Amek/TAC Bullet 10-4-2 which I run the outputs of my Pro Tools rig through. Recently I re-calibrated the output meters to a test tone coming from Pro Tools and I noticed that the left channel was about 3-5dB higher than the right. I replaced the two master mono faders ...
