I think you both have valid points but your thinking about it in different ways..his is a more technical circut/spec kind of pov and yours a more practical real world/in the room pov.. Like what your thinking of is not what hes thinking of..I mean thats still not an excuse to act like a complete pr...

He says...
Frequancy response is in the speaker not the wood. Its about the magnitude of of the cone oscillation vrs. the coil input.
He seems hellbent on making frequency response only a measure of a speaker's characteristics, ignoring that ANYTHING THAT VIBRATES will have a frequency response.

Re: mbox schmembox

I was trying to create an aggregate device on my mac using my 828 and an mbox only to discover the little princess doesnt show up in the aggregate device menu. Looking around the web it sounds like this is "just a digidesign thing", and I wouldnt understand. Seems like digi's strategy is to make th...

Frequency response and guitar cabinets

Okay, I got into this discussion (more like a total fucking flamefest) with a guy on another board and would like some input from some actual experts. I've edited this post to remove the unrelated BS. Yes romp different woods do make different sounds. Tone is not frequency response, so please don't ...

FS: Various pickups, effects, and other stuff

Two Bill Lawrence L500XL's. This is the same type of pickup Dimebag used. Great tone. Fairly high output. $30 each. $50 for the pair. Seymour Duncan Jazz neck pickup. White bobbins. Excellent for cleans and bluesy distortion. The lead on this is way short, but it's simple enough to lengthen it (just...

I just recently made a brilliant discovery! When you record and make everthing loud and try to limit the master from, for example, +10dB down to -.3dB... it sounds like ass. It's much better to make everything louder after the fact than to make it quieter. That probably made no sense, but whatever. ...
