need recs on good audio interface for reason 4.0...

something under $200 would be ideal...but, if it's a little over i might consider it.

most everything sounds great. the xylophone (?) part in the beginning doesn't cut through enough for me to be effective, but that's all i can say negetive about the song.

that's a good observation. i was having problems bringing out the acoustic guitar in this track. possibly because the overall volume is too high...no sure. also, does seem a wee bit uneven in the beginning, but not sure if i want to change it.

looking for some constructive crit on a new mix...

I've never worked on a song like this before, so I could use some other ears. I really want to make this the best it can be, so let me know.

is hitting the yellow light a bad thing...

i'm recording with a synth so there is no risk of accidently getting too loud and hitting the red light of my preamp. so, if i'm pushing the volume to the point that it flickers yellow a bad thing?

it's the fmr really nice preamp. it's not the preamp that's the problem. it's something that has happened before without the preamp, but not that often. with the preamp it happens everytime.

new preamp makes creates loud noise then fuzz...

it's hard to explain, but since you guys are all so recording smart you'll probably know what i'm talking about. i've always had some problems with recording in real time, but now that i got a preamp (really nice preamp) i'll be in a recording session for about five minutes and then a very sharp, lo...

i've owned both and currently still have the isa(428). they are both solid pre amps and while not in the WOW camp definitely totally useable and versatile. i found the RNP a little sterile and in comparion i would say that the isa is a little warmer - probably a little more heft in the low end/low ...
