Well Im sorry to hear that.

He called his music acoustic frontier trip hop and i would say its not your regular action-oriented typical soundtrack. You should listen to the songs. The magazine is for creative music recording. Its good music. Its too bad its not considered because of its usage.

We need an article on Darren Korb who worked on Bastion

This story has tape op written all over it! He did all the sound design, music and recorded the VO for the indie video game Bastion. But he did it in his NYC apartment! He's a musician, producer, engineer by trade so this is his first video game work. The game has been very well received and he's wi...

reel to reels can be fun. i have a cheap teac a2340sx. i recorded a bluegrass, americana duet with a ribbon mic into this thing and the vibe was awesome! but since they're lowend tape it will mostly mess up the audio rather than do any sort of nice tape effects. not that that's a bad thing

I have two pairs of speakers setup. One is hooked up through the unbalanced RCA jacks and I get a high-freq whine. It only comes through when a core-audio application has connected (and the 002r does its ample-rate blinky thing). The balanced connections are fine. I would definitely try those cables.

4 years later!!!??!!! Dude, it's yours as far as I'm concerned. Most repair places have a 6month limit for how long they will keep a piece of repaired gear around. Those things take up space. Was the guy keeping in-touch those 4years? or did he just disappear for 4years? Is he best friends with your...

Gentleman Jim, you made a good point about guilt. I don't think it's quite for the same reasons but there is some guilt. I feel guilty for wanting to work so much. Now, it's like I almost prefer working rather than spending time with her. I don't know what that's a sign of. I'm certainly happy to be...

Your significant other - the balancing act

This industry isn't the most family friendly but many make it work. I'm in my late 20's and met a girl when I wasn't so busy. She played a large role in getting me to believe that I can do this as a living. Now I am busy and am beginning to feel the strain. I'm worried she needs too much time and I'...

If you don't need the money from the stuff you're selling, just put it in a savings account so it can be waiting for you if you decide to return. I think this would be most helpful with the car situation. It's a pain not having one when you need one.

Hmmmm. So any tips on how to get in this thing? It's basically a solid piece with the mic underneath some sort of screen on one end and then the other end just has the wires sticking out. It's a solid piece as far as a I can tell.

Oh wow I was way off then. That thing is so tiny I didn't think we were supposed to go in there. Well I guess I get to use the magnifying glass on my extra hands soldering tool.

Thanks so much!

Yeah really enjoyed the article. I've read his first book and it was interesting to find out exactly how much of an engineer and musician he really is. I think he kind of played that part down in his first book. I'll love reading the 2nd I'm sure.

Realistic PZM Phantom Mod Problems

I'm using this mod to allow the Realistic PZM to be phantom powered. I'm to the step where the electret capsule needs to be modified and I'm not understanding the wording. Remove the capsule plate from the boundary plate and remove the Electret insert and its associated circuit board. After removing...

Cool that's good to hear. Yeah there are some acoustic instruments down there. Can't really bring the drums upstairs though. There's a cheap acoustic guitar down there too and some electrics. Should probably loosen all those strings. Thanks guys.
