I could be wrong here but wouldnt all your traces on your pcb have to be made out of silver for it to make a difference or does going from the slightly higher resistance of the trace to the lower resistance or the silver solder back to the higher resistance of the trace actually do something? I know...

I've modded plenty of things if you want to learn how to do it yourself a mic is a good place to start. The benefit of this is you eventually start getting into comps, eqs and pres and it will improve your recording rig tremendously with out having to take every piece of equipment to someone and you...

Instead of recording your own album and getting addicted to studio gear you might want to consider heroin. Its cheaper and more fun.

If I had 100 dollars to spend I'd either get A used rack case off craigslist, spend a hundred bucks at redco, an aphex 205 or some parts for a diy mic pre and wait a while so I could finish it.

I do construction work and was wondering if you were caulking these gaps for sound proofing reasons? As far as your seams go you should really try hard not to have any gaps larger than 1/4 inch. If it's bigger than that you should of probably of redone it but sense it's already up just use mesh tape...
