actually, beavers don't live in their dams. they live in lodges, which are a separate structure. they get in and out through a secret underwater tunnel.

i think the dams are used to create pools which allow for better fishing or parties or something..

inverseroom, you should seriously check out the C.S. Lewis trilogy I mentioned in my previous post. It's incredibly well-written and captivating. Definitely not your ordinary Sci-Fi.

Ugh. I thought Cather in the Rye was infuriating. It's supposed to be this great classic, and J.D. Salinger is so shrouded in mystery, etc., but really, I found the book to have no real merit whatsoever.
