Egg Carton padding vs. high end stuff
Our band is trying to build an isolation booth for vocals on a small budget. Has anyone used those egg carton pads (like the ones for beds) to deaden a room? Do they work at all or do they make recordings sound like sh*t? Thanks for any responses.

Tubes for Fender Vibro Champ
Just curious what tubes people prefer for the Vibro Champ and why? I'm looking at replacing the originals with a pair of 6V6EH power tubes, a 5Y3GT - Sovtek for the rectifier, and a 12AX7EH for the tremolo. Does anyone have any objections to this? Thanks.

OHM, OHM, on the range
I am going to replace a speaker in my Fender Vibro Champ. Wondering if anyone knows what difference there would be in sound.... or is one just louder.... by replacing it with 3.2 ohm speaker vs. a 4 ohm speaker? Thank y'all.

Re: Fender Vibro Champ Replacement Speakers
I would also recommend the weber speaker I put a 8A125 in mine about a year ago and it sounded it great until I blew up the amp a few weeks ago.
How did the amp "blow up"? If you don't mind me asking... just trying to avoid similar occurrances.

Re: Fender Vibro Champ Replacement Speakers
Thanks for the tips..... We are also lucky enough in La Crosse to have a mass murderer known locally as "The River Killer". If you're downtown, have a blood alcohol level of .3, the ripe age of 21, and a male.... lookout!!

Re: Fender Vibro Champ Replacement Speakers
Damn right... though, it is no longer Old Style. However, we still have more bars per capita than anywhere in the U.S. Gotta love Sconi!!

Re: '70s Fender Deluxe Reverb vs. '65 Deluxe ReIssue
Thanks for the info.. I'm basically just trying to achieve a classic overdriven sound using an MXR gain pedal and then occasionally a Voodoo labs bosstone pedal. I want something that isn't going to lose tone when I plug in a distortion pedal. It seems that even with a gain pedal, most distortion pe...

'70s Fender Deluxe Reverb vs. '65 Deluxe ReIssue
This may be a no-brainer, but is there anyone out there who would pick the '65 ReIssure over a 1970's Fender Deluxe Reverb? And why would you pick one over the other? I've read some reviews that said that using any sort of distortion pedal with the '65 RI is pointless... any validity? What do y'all ...

Vintage Fender Bronco vs. Vintage Vibro Fender Vibro Champ
Does anyone out there know the differences in tone between the 60s/70s Bronco and the Vibro Champs from that era? From looking at their schematics, the amps are almost identical. Thanks.

Fender late '70's Precision Basses
Does anyone no if the pick up bridge covers came standard on all 1978/79 precision basses? I'm looking to get one from that period and would prefer it to be all original. Thanks.
