Damn, I am totally jelly. I would love to rediscover Television and Big Star.
I've been listen to a project I sort of put on hold a year ago. Time flies...

Re: Ddistributing Songs
So what is the single's fate, if it's not hyping an upcoming collection? Are we hoping that people like it enough to add it to a playlist? You might come across a single and like it, but you don't put on a single to drive into town, do chores, or unwind after work, do you?

Re: is there delay plugin like a delta lab effectron?
Not so much. The modulation section give you chorus and flange sounds and then very quickly gets into bonkers territory. Right, flange is what I was thinking of. I recall a snare sound on a Bowie record (Low) being cited where the pitch of the snare hits changed randomly due to the flanger. Sweet b...

Don’t they do a little pitch shift as well?

I’m sure it sounded a lot better than ok for the people that were starving to hear it. Very interesting.

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
I was shopping for keyboard sounds (B3 clav, wurli etc.) and ended up catching a really good deal on the Atruria V collection which includes not only all of that, but a boatload of classic synths. I needed to update my midi controller too, so I went ahead and bought their 61 key Keylab based on buil...

Re: New Waves Subscription model
Pretty much on topic I guess, but even iPhone/iPad apps are awful in this regard. I miss being able to pay a one time fee for things. Now everything wants to tag along on my credit card into perpetuity.

Re: Great records with drums low in the mix?
That's another good call. I like how the kick starts out impactful, and then gets pulled back (or masked, I'm not listening on the greatest system at the moment) and also when the drums cut out completely. It would be hard not to bring the snare up a bit though haha!

That's a good call, and it's odd how many times I've listened to that song without noticing until you pointed it out.

Re: Great records with drums low in the mix?
Thanks, I'll look up some Indie folk playlists and see what I come across. I thought about this gem, R.E.M.'s swansong. Like the ghost of Bill Berry, and my god, how adorable is Kirsten Dunst? https://youtu.be/kpwd1YLgDaM Like you said that one is all about the vocal. It doesn't validate what I'm up...

Great records with drums low in the mix?
I know this is really vague, but I'm looking for a little inspiration/reassurance for my current project.

This is true! Or you could just wait for that magic "You know what this track really needs? A guitar that squeals like a stuck pig!" moment.

“When they kick at your front door, how you gonna come?” I’m not so sure about surviving the zombie apocalypse. I have just enough kit to make sure they don’t take me alive.
