This is great stuff. These songs are crying out for vinyl, and I think you have a killer 10-song LP right here.

The "internal DSP" on those D5s, is that in the signal path, or just referring to the software it's using for the voicing?

For people controlling ring through moongels and tape I recommend experimenting with different tunings. A wider pitch interval between top & bottom heads reduces resonance. So if I want low pitched toms that are kindof thuddy, like Levon Helm's sound for example, I tune the batters low to keep the ...

A Korg DW-6000 or DW-8000 might be just what you're looking for. I think it's the same type of hybrid as the 106, but last I looked at least, a lot cheaper. Plus the built in delay sounds sweet.

No criticisms here, this sounds great. I just wanted to mention how much I love the strings on "she's bound to get hurt".

You could mult the track, use a LPF and a gate to get the low notes without turning up all the extra noise and rumble.

Sorry, just to be clear, this isn't my studio or my stuff. I just saw this on Seattle CL and thought I'd help spread the word. I know lots of folks on this board are forever hunting down gear and could make a pretty good resource for helping track down the jerks that would steal from a studio.

A bunch of gear stolen from Jupiter Studios in Seattle

This is a repost from the Seattle Craigslist, I doubt they're going to turn up here, but if some of you guys who are looking to buy stuff come across any of this gear, particularly in the PNW, please get in contact: Dear Friends, Please help us spread the word that Jupiter Studios in Wallingford was...

I'd take a look at the Meinls as well as the big 3. I have a 18" thin Meinl Byzance crash that I use with my old Zildjians, and it is my favorite crash I've ever heard.

I'll give it a download before I pass judgment, but if the mix sounds anything as good as No Code, I'm definitely gonna pick up the vinyl edition.

Is there a difference between the stock and XR converters when you're doing 24 track? Or is it just the ability to do 12 track at 96 that justifies the cost? There's one (non-XR) for sale locally, and I'm thinking seriously about picking it up this week.
