If it's the mic gain pot then you need the special taper from Soundcraft, part number is DM1320. It's such an odd taper that nothing else will work. The other pots can be interchanged with the Panasonic EVU series: http://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/en/EVU-E2AF25D14/P3Q6103-ND/243657 I'm not sure ...

TASCAM M30 Project - Need Schematic
Hi. I've got this M30 project I'm working on, and could really use a schematic. I've managed to download a user manual that was very helpful in understanding the board but I'm wondering if anyone here has the schematic / service manual or knows an online source. I couldn't find one on google or the ...

I should really check this board more often. Good news, C&H, about your deck! Can you see / hear / feel the capstan motor start when you lift that tension arm? I can't imagine it going bad, surely it's just the belt. As for the play acting like FFW, it should do that when there's no tape in it. The ...

Wow, it's been a while since I checked in here and it's great to see such love for this machine. Clean and Humble, any luck with yours? I've done nothing since but think i've got a lead on some tape - don't want to shell out for new stuff until I find out about the heads. In the meantime, I scored a...

I just got it fixed and am looking for some tape to test it with. I also had to fix a motor issue which turned out to be the motor was wired wrong by the last guy who had it. I'm sure he meant well, but his repair efforts sure ended up making my job harder. To get you started, I'd suggest measuring ...

There's one can and one small orange disc type, in parallel. I removed both of them to check. They seem to be doing their thing just fine, resistance increases as the charge builds up from the voltage from the tester. I have the part number for the voltage regulator and checked online, it seems to b...

Thanks alot! I was able to download the schematic and investigate the problem further. I take it you're familiar with this unit? Turns out the short is in the section of the power supply that controls the 5V DC to the control board. The blown fuse carries 13V AC to the power supply where it's rectif...

Dead Teac 80-8 - Help with diagnosis?
Hi, I'm new to the board and, hopefully, to recording with tape. I have a Teac 80-8 in rough shape on loan from a friend who's selling it, trying to determine how much work it needs. I guess this is a typical 'is it worth fixing' post. The capstan motor works, but other than that, no action. The fus...
