Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

Haven't bought anything for a minute due to reasons, and also putting some extra money into my car. But today I ordered a Two Notes Cab M +. I already own the load box rackmount variant (Two Notes Torpedo Live) which is a very cool box that I use for amps. One of my immediate complaints about the To...

Re: anyone sell their own samples?

I don’t think most use any kind of security, unless they are someone that builds into an application? I don’t buy a ton of samples, but the ones I do come with wavs and sometimes some presets for Live or whatever.

Re: Downsizing advice

I have a problem, you could call it a first world problem...which is even if I’ve got stuff that I could sell (and I do), I hate the selling process. The good part about having too much stuff and a small space is, I have to hesitate before buying something else. Same, I hate selling gear.. and good...

Re: Downsizing advice

If it’s replaceable and you don’t use it, sell it. If it’s tough to replace - hesitate maybe. If it has paid for itself - eh maybe keep it. Re: Cabling: What's the cheapest 24 channel TRS snake you'd buy?

I’ve used several 8 channel snakes from hosa and monoprice. They work but i wouldn’t use them for heavy duty stuff but they work for behind the rack stuff. I’ve also built some 8 channel snakes using Flexygy flat cable. Those weren’t super expensive to build but took some time... I’m not gifted enou...

Re: Headphones for occasional mix reference

Okay so not really in the category of "something I would mix on" but more than adequate for closed back talent cans or consumer ref or gym use...remember the Monoprice "DJ" headphones from a few years ago? Well I've still got a pair of those that have held up fine, I leave them on my Tascam 388. My ...

What about a little speaker (Bluetooth even?) in the live room and a matching mic/Bluetooth headset?

Re: Presonus Eureka DIY Mods / Revive Audio Mods worth it?

Even after spending $299 on top of whatever those cost new...is that really going to be better than something you could get for the same value? Their service is probably $295 in labor and $5 in components? I kind of think all of the modding services are a little snake oil and a lot of marketing tryi...

Tascam 388 Twins and all the fixings in Midwest

So I’ve got two Tascam 388s, and at the moment I’d prefer to sell them together. They were both recently serviced (Late 2017/2018) by Mike Miller at Westend Studios in Kansas City. One of them had its heads relapped by JRF, both machines were aligned together so that they would be interchangeable, a...

Re: mastering tricks for gaining level

I agree, no matter what a lot of commercial releases are still “loud” AF. And i have people expect that, despite what it starts to sound like. My strategy is much like yours, a lot small moves. It definitely starts in the mix, lots of sub mixing as well. There’s another plug-in I started using that ...

Re: Warm WA412 vs. Black Lion Audio B12A Quad

I have the Lindell 3 space rack (on indefinite loan) and it is junk. Barely used and noisy.

I bought a “Midas” (Behringer, basically) 6 space rack and it is great and cheap.

Go figure.

For the money might as well get the 10 space rack...
