Re: TOMB kinda slow lately?

It was real real slow a year or two ago but I don’t have any complaints these days (works fine on iPhone and Mac using safari and chrome).

Re: When there's drums in the bass mic

Sometimes a light touch of de bleed within RX is useful. Or perhaps duplicate the track and make a couple versions, one with heavier de bleed and or filtering...

Re: I highly recommend REAPER

I'm certainly not a fan of Avid, but I don't see myself not using it right now. I did look at Reaper a few years ago but it was not quite as intuitive to me at that time. Of course I don't know if anyone has ever said PT is intuitive, but I feel like I know it pretty well. I also had a Dig001 and 6...

Re: I highly recommend REAPER

Yeah, I’m tired of it too. I haven’t touched a current gen HD system in a long time, and it’s more so crazy that Larry is using Avid’s plugins too.

I’ve never had problems with bounce to disk, fortunately. But I’m on vanilla.

Re: I highly recommend REAPER

How can it possibly be as good as paying $200+per year for an incremental update 6 months late (latest OS support basically) and then a couple follow up patches related to the same thing? :???: Meanwhile same crashes from the beginning of pro tools time....

Indeed, a very consistent contributor to a lot of music I have enjoyed over the years. Last time I saw him was in 2002 with Kmfdm.

Then yesterday Pro Tools started bouncing my songs at half-speed! OMG.....
I got an email yesterday “reminding” me my plan expires in 7 days. It will expire. They will not get a dollar more from me after 15 years.

Re: Tascam 388 Saga

Yeah, I’d definitely be afraid of losing something for an indefinite period of time, especially when techs aren’t always that quick to begin with.

I kind of regret not having my 238 and 688 anymore. But for some reason always gravitate towards the 388.

Re: Coronavirus Plans (what are yours?)

My county goes under stay at home orders on Tuesday, and surrounding counties, though most have been largely voluntarily like that in the past week or two already. My work is classified as “essential business” so I must still go in, but I am grateful for that versus the alternative that many of my f...

Tascam 388 Saga

My county (and supporting counties) is under 30 day stay at home orders and one of my goals has been to fire up ye olde Tascam 388 and put some synth stuff to tape. And that’s what I’ve been doing. However there’s been a constant buzz in the headphone mixer and dBx section....did not record but it w...

i don't think anyone used a 388 for live tracking back the they came out! It was a hobbiest's toy. Some dude pumping out endless guitar solos over a drum machine!
I feel attacked.

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

Came to my senses and bought out the RE20 I've been renting for the last 8 months. Smart. That's a handy mic. I'm always lusting after my next mic as something two or three times more expensive than one of those, when I'd probably use the RE20 twice as much. I mean it's really only good for drums, ...

Re: Older i7 pre-built PCs, advice needed

I feel like $350 is a lot of cheddar to work with, to me that would mean buying something used and decent and doing any necessary upgrades (ssd and memory especially, new fans or power supply maybe). I don’t know that I would buy any of these off amazon, instead i would see what I could find locally...

Re: The Cue Send On My 388 Is Mono Only

So everyone in the live room basically got the same cue feed to their headphones? That must have been fun. Well the 388 was really a home studio device more than anything, I don’t think it was intended as the centerpiece of any serious multiroom commercial studio. You still could set up several dif...

I might crossgrade from Logic Pro 9, if they offer this option. Otherwise, I'll crossgrade to Cubase of Nuendo at some point.

Oh, and I still will be using PT... most of the time. LOL.
I didn’t think there was any licensing fee to it, just contingent on owning a thunderbolt UA device?
