Re: Mic pre in pedal form?

I have a pigtronix key master that I’ve used for this. 18v power

Eventide mixing link

If you don’t mind the size, you can probably find an older Line 6 floor board with a mic input for cheap, get a bunch of fx as a bonus

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

We lost our cool-ish radio station with local promoters and such, replaced with our corporate overlords a few years ago. Lost many of our smaller venues around / but not all directly related to Covid. And another venue / many other cool businesses are potentially up for demolition as we prepare to ...

Re: Non-functionnal reel-to-reel: should I fix before selling?

I would do basic diagnosis myself - such as checking the belt and adjusting tension; depending on the actual issue. I don’t have tons of reel to reel tech experience, but when I took my Tascam 388 in it was a quite expensive ordeal. If you’re unable to fix it yourself, I’d just sell it as is. If it’...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

I've just been here for 24 years and miss how it was 2000-2010. I'm cranky. . I feel the same way about Austin. . A friend of mine in Seattle was saying music was dying up there - that nobody wanted to hear original music anymore. I see that happening in Austin too. Not sure if it is also the tech-...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

Got a couple pedals by seller on Reverb “discordance electric” - a Maestro Brassmaster clone and a Korg Ms20 filter in a pedal. Pretty interesting for something a little different, and they were having a sale so price was right.

Re: Reverb issues

I agree the seller was slow to initially respond, but I’m not clear Why wouldn’t you just provide a video demonstrating the issue when reverb asked? This is a pretty standard policy and reasonable expectation for refunds on reverb / eBay / etc. When I sell on reverb - I’ve occasionally had troubled ...

Re: Roland SH-101+MoogerFooger MF-102 pedal

Try the LFO out of the pedal into the CV in of the SH 101. This was cool and useful, but "Carrier Out" was cooler. LFO out is half of what the mooger fooger is doing, carrier is the whole thing, basically, as I understand it. Neither did the trick I was trying to figure out which is getting the seq...

Re: Roland SH-101 + MoogerFooger MF-102 peda

I feel like I would try the rate output on the mf101. The clock in is really designed to take a drum machine out or a pulse signal. You can get something like an ehx 8 step but you could instead probably just get a cheap drum machine (like the behringers, I’ve seen these second hand quite cheap), or...

Re: Drum OH's, only

What about a mono OH and kick mic? I’ve had good results like that (especially if there are other live sources for drums to bleed into ).

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

also Mark i think you are UK based but UPS and USPS are Union, whereas Fedex is private. I have found USPS to be the best for domestic some shipments, and anything large (guitar/amp/cab/studio rack gear) UPS is the best. Fedex is always the most expensive (see private) and aren't worth the extra ex...

Re: Quirky Mastering Situation

His solutionary stance is he could knock a few DB off , that doesn’t seem like the issue to me as I listen to modern era rap songs that are much louder than what we have on our hands I think communicate with them and allow the ME to make revisions and relisten or find a different ME. Maybe just cho...

Re: Quirky Mastering Situation

What does the ME say about it? Presumedly, since you haven’t paid them yet, they ought to have some incentive to make you happy. Really kind of hard to troubleshoot from your post.

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

The problem is people put the blame on the courier when they need to just pack shit correctly. I would agree that proper packaging is almost always the problem. Even if UPS or Fedex or USPS or whoever drops/throws item (on purpose or accidentally), you have to package it to withstand the chance tha...
