Re: problem with ADAT port failed on RME card??

thanks - is there any way to check the condition of the PSU with some utility / tool / app ? A friend suggested that the PSU won't turn on if there's a short somewhere in the chain and I wondered about that being an issue too.... Not that I’m aware of. Perhaps with a tool that shows current draw or...

Re: problem with ADAT port failed on RME card??

11/10 times when the PC is having issues turning on, its time to replace the power supply. If your ps is going out it sounds reasonable that your pcI card is acting funny due to low power. Used to manage technology for a dozen employees or so, the problem was so common with the store brand PCs the c...

Re: Pro Tools 2021 unstable on new Mac Pro

I don’t have UAD plugins, I quit paying for Pro Tools about mid 2019 i think…and my (2012) Mac Pro is on Mojave, fwiw. I find some plugins are more likely to cause problems than others, i have been using pro tools for about 16 years, I would probably give the stability of this setup as a C+ grade at...

Re: policies on vax or non-vax

I had my first gig in 14 months last night in Baltimore. In the Fells Point bar area maybe 1 person in 10 was wearing a mask. In the bar we played in literally no one had a mask. Maybe around 10 pm staff announced if you’re not actually imbibing a drink, put a mask on. Compliance was minimal. In th...

My thoughts are…to see your favorites, not take concerts / the individuals in the band for granted, never know when that will go away.

Re: Anybody wishing they had a project.

I’ve considered those and similar (I think Baldwin made one too?) as occasionally they show up for cheap, but yeah huge, heavy and project. I already have a YC45D that qualifies.

Re: RANT: "in your spare time.."

Just wanted to chime in and say that I feel your sentiment about making a studio that will work, and realistically happen, instead of holding out for that perfect situation. ok, since we are already OT....I agree with both. when I built mine I very loosely applied some "best practices" (Gervais, et...

Re: RANT: "in your spare time.."

None of us have spare time. My "by the way" tasks usually cost $25+ per. Below if from my $250 per song mix deals: Extra Fees: Mixing that needs to be completed by a fixed date will be subject to extra “rush” charge of $75 per song. Extracting tracks from GarageBand or Logic is $50 per song. Extrac...

Re: RANT: "in your spare time.."

It occurred to me that I’m kind of guilty of this in a way - I have a lot of “by the way can you…” moments with my mechanic. I never expect anything for free and it’s never something under a tight timeframe but when you own 3 15+ year old cars, there’s always an “oh by the way” of something else I m...

Re: RANT: "in your spare time.."

I am reminded of my aunt being surprised at the result of the following situation: she has a high maintenance dog that “needs” specialized grooming because just any pet smart won’t do, she takes it to the breeder for grooming, way out in the sticks. She bought a brand new car recently, and decided ...

Besides above, do you have another guitar with dead strings or that you could string with flats?

Re: Anybody bought anything from "Audiosavings"?

I had some "eBay bucks" about to expire so I just bought some long mic cables (for my PA system which has powered speakers) off eBay and I just realized that it is from AudioSavings. They sent me this in an email, which is disappointing... Due to a sudden increase in demand all orders placed today ...
