Groove Tubes makes a good cheap passive DI that is only available at Guitar Center. I think they are 40 bucks. They are way better tharn any other DIs in the same price range.

My band did a record with John Croslin when he was still working out of his garage. He had a 8 track 1" and he bounced the drums down to two tracks and then we did the overdubs. It sounded great. He bounced them down to dat and we never looked back. It's actually kind of liberating, you make a decis...

I'm switching to Mogami
I worked for GC a few years back. Monster cable is one of the few things we could not discount the price. Even employess had to pay retail for Monster.

If you use the humbucker pickup, it will eliminate the 60 cycle hum. Switch to the single coils and it's back. They do it for the sound, usually somebody with a strat who wants a heavier sound.

He also threw up several times a set from pure exertion That's wicked. Did he have a little bucket next to him or did he run off to the vomitorium between numbers...I assume he was puking between songs, although mid song would be punk as fuck. He always has a couple of plastic grocery bags hanging ...

One of my bands had a drummer that hit soooo hard it was insane. He hit every stroke as hard as he posssibly could. He also threw up several times a set from pure exertion. It became part of the show. Poor fucker. Eventually, I got him to pull back a little and his dynamics really improved.

not to hijack the thread, but he seems like an alright guy unless he's in one of his "moods". that's my quite humble opinion from going to many of the shows (not basing that on the movie). everybody's got character flaws, nothing wrong with that. just gotta try and keep them in check jim! Hey I lov...

Damn!! $250 for a cabinet for a $200 amp....sounds like a good deal. Yeah, it doesn't make a lot of sense, I suppose. How else are you gonna get a 12" speaker in there? Yeah, you could buy an extension cabinet, but that would probably cost you near as much, and if you were to gig with it, it wouldn...

I have an old (early 80's?) GE jambox that always made great rehearsal tapes. I always wanted to rig it up to use as a drum room mic, but there are no rca outs. Any ideas?

I worked at the guitar Meglo Mart. EVERY ONE that we sold came back with some sort of problem. EVERY ONE. Buyer beware. Other amps with really crazy failure rates: Marshall tube combos, Marshall 2000 heads, and Fender Deville series anything.

It was torture trying to find a location for our music school. Commercial realtors are a pain in the ass. Our biggest problem was finding a location where other tennants could tolerate the noise. We finally found a place after looking at nearly 100 properties. We are in the Austin city limits, but i...
