Here are some jokes to go with the banjo.

My favorite: What's the difference between a banjo and a chainsaw?

A chainsaw has more dynamic range.

According to this link, you want a Gretsch hollowbody, a solidstate Vox amp, and a Vox Tonebender fuzz to cop Lou Reed's sound.

The two albums with Les Paul are fantastic and available on one CD.

Chet Atkins "Guitar Legend: The RCA Years" is a 2-cd set that covers a lot of the high points.

The thing about Chet is he makes it sound so damn easy.

Besides the obvious (White Album, Electric Ladyland)

Funkadelic - America Eats Its Young

Merle Haggard - Same Train, A Different Time (Jimmie Rodgers Covers)

Neil Young and Crazy Horse - Sleeps with Angels

I love Double Nickels on the Dime also.

This one looks better. Leave the depth pot out and have position on the switch open to bypass it. The full/half coil could be left out or be a push/pull pot.

You're already replacing the switch. Why not put in something more useful like a varitone?

Les Paul used two record cutting lathes for his first set up, much like multitracking by bouncing one tape deck into another while playing along. If he messed up he was out his most recent take not the entire song. I have the bracket on my WEM Copicat erase head loosened up so I can push it back and...

Weber's are good. I don't have any experience with the high power line (which would be required with a twin) but the cheaper signature series is very good.

Looks like about $110 a piece for ceramic high power 12s

Here is a cool DIY design that uses a pressure pad from a burglar alarm.
The mic turns on and off when you step on a pressure pad in front of it.

Okay, the screw the arrow is pointing to is normally underneath the bridge to provide height adjustment. I put it and it's twin over the bridge and cranked them down to eliminate slop in the bridge.

One thing I did to my Teisco, which I had forgotten about until I looked at it just now, was to put the height adjustment screws on top of the bridge to clamp the bridge down. This seemed to help a lot with the tuning. If you need some extra height to the bridge you may have to shim it up with some ...

If the nut is too tall it can also throw off your intonation. I have a lot of experience with cheap guitar tuners. The secret is to wrap the strings on the tuners right, put graphite (pencil lead) in the string grooves on the nut, and always start with the strings flat when tuning, this makes the ge...
