As far as I can tell someone has already done alot of these changes... or it's already a AB763.Those two resistors after the bias pot are 220K and that cap is 100uf/100v as well. the bias voltage is-52 and the pot appears to be wired as a true bias pot with one wire headed out of it rather than the...

The only people who ever even notice are the people who just signed up, who are embarrassed by their low rank. The rest of us use a combination of your post count, the quality of those posts, and whether or not you're known for your work, to determine if your advice can be trusted. I would've never...

T.O.M.B. Rankings? I Say, L.A.M.E-O! OR, is it just me?
RE: T.O.M.B. "Rankings" Is it just me? Or is the T.O.M.B. "Rankings" by far the lamest thing about the whole Tape Op Message Board? (You know, that inexplicable line of text, just below your User Name, when you post to the Board?) I'm a LONG time reader of the Magazine, but I only recently joined T...

So, Sleep, ya got him goin', now! Here's what "Fender Tech" John had to add: "You might pass this on, albeit a bit lengthy and technical: So this is probably what your amp was , originally, unless it was built before July, 1969: http://www.ampwares.com/schematics/twin_reverb_aa769.pdf And this is wh...

. Also, IF you're using a '70s-vintage TEAC/TASCAM Reel-to-Reel, remember, they were originally BIASED for use with MAXELL TAPE ... at least that's what my manual for my TEAC A3340S, that I bought new in 1975 (for $695 wholesale), said, MAXELL UD , or the High-Bias version, UD-XL (preferred). I thin...

In regards to your PC I run Vegas Pro 8 which is kinda like Acid but it's more geared towards video editing...it's very frustrating as far as latency and stuff goes cause without alot of buffering I get alot of drop out's and crap like that but If Iturn the buffering up my Latency goes way up. I ne...

And just to add to the confusion the serial number says it's a 67 blackface #A24462 which doesn't really make sense cause it has a silver faceplate with blue TWIN REVERB AMP...it is the AB763 circuit....Ohhh Fender....This doesn't really solve my issue though....just makes me scratch my head some m...

So, I see that it's been about 6 weeks since the last post to this thread... Well, I just got here, but, I wonder, dude... did you buy the 388? Ya know, there NOTHING that says that you have to use more than 8 Tracks, even if you're using Abelton LIVE, or ANY DAW for that matter. If you want to work...

What RMS levels do you strive for when doing initial mixdowns? I'm having trouble getting my ITB mixes loud. Any tips, suggestions? ...I have no idea how to tell where my mix is peaking. I'm using Cubase, and there's an overall meter on the transport panel, but it's not numbered. It'll show if it's...

Re: Adding Noise to a Quiet Digital Mix...
. Regarding the tape noise and even the "Reamping" thread-isms, I think the human brain really likes to hear this kind of stuff! Whether it knows it, or not... When you have/add some pleasant distortion, such as added by tape... or "room" space, whether it's real reverb, or fake, or, perhaps, even m...

Re: re-amping entire mix
Somehow my Fender wedge monitors that are used in band practice tend to give everything a mid heavy, lo-fi kind of charm. Which is cool, but not as transparent. What'd you have in mind? I've thought of the same thing, but I haven't done the research yet into what might be a good candidate. Have you...

Re: Electric guitars: What are some good ways to get small ?
How 'bout if you copy the same track and reverse the phase on one of the tracks...? Or, use two mics (57s?), placed very close together, and reverse the phase on one of the mics. You might also try recording it with a micro-cassette recorder, with the built-in condenser mic, too. (Though, that might...
