Ok, looks like it has 2 - LM3915N and 1 - LM348N Chip per channel. I found there to be more notations on the front side of the board. Looks like it's wanting -12v, +12v and +5v. +5v is for the LEDs and the other looks like its for the chips. Now I'm no expert on ICs. So, I have a few concerns. 1. Is...

PM1000 with Altec Meter Bridge

So, I recently acquired a new Pm1000. This particular one is pretty rad, cause it has a full 32 channel Altec meter bridge with outputs on each channel also. Anyways, there is one issue. The guy that I bought it from, bought it from a company that went out of business. So... No info. But after booti...

International Power Regulator?

So, I'm putting together a mobile recording rig for a higher profile artist in Brazil right now. And well, he's dumping a lot of money into it. 20 channels of API 512c and 20 channels of API 312 to name just part of it. So, my question is this. Brazil is one of the few countries that uses both 120v ...

Well, my chassis is about twice the size of a real sta-level cause I couldn't find a small one like the original. So size is really no issue. So I'm just curious to try and see if there is an audible difference between the two.

Yeah there are these guys that fit the bill. http://tubedepot.com/cp-so-2200-630v.html Great size and would work. I already knew that the original used electrolytics, and that's why I want to see I could swap them. Not 100% sure if I will stick with that. But if it's possible. I at least want to tes...

Capacitor replacements

Hey, so I'm in the process of building some new gear for the studio I work at. At the moment I am building a Sta-Level and I just had a quick question. Is it safe to replace the electrolytics in the circuit with non-polarized caps? I know the benefit of Elec caps is more bang for your buck, not sacr...

Trident S80 Power Supply issues

So, just got a Trident S80 Producer Box. The power supply has been blowing I guess. I opened it up and can see the issues, but the problem is that someone has worked on it before. So I'm not sure what they did to it haha So I'm curious if anyone has any info on this thing. I haven't been able to fin...

Scully 280B parts

So i've got a Scully 280B sitting around but i don't have the pre-amps for it. So i was considering parting it out on e-bay or something. You think it would be worthwhile or would anyone find it helpful at all?
