WTB: Alesis HD24

Been a long time since I last posted. I am looking for an Alesis HD24. I would prefer a HD24XR, but if the price is enticing enough, a standard HD24 will do the trick. Please email me at danny@tannerystudio.com as I don't check this board much (but I will do my best to reply to PMs). Thanks.

Huge Problem with Tascam DV-RA1000

Okay, this is exactly the kind of shit that you never want to happen ever during a recording session. We had a larger client in the studio to record an EP that was 7 songs. We mixed from 2" to our Tascam DV-RA1000, and saved it as a 24 bit 44.1 kHz DVD+RW. We left the DVD in the unit after the sessi...

Hello - A friend of mine did a 7" picture disc through the Czech plant, and had really bad results. The vinyl came back very distorted, and there were skips on every one about a minute into side A. This could be an isolated incident, but I fiugured I'd throw that out there. I reccomend RTI in Califo...

As far as small combos go, the SWR Workingman's 300 is a good choice. It sounds awesome and is quite controlable.

Just an idea...

shellac - terraform. the record sounds more real than most records that can think of. the drums are astonishing. nina nastasia - dogs. much has already been said, so i will just second that. dianogah - battle champions. it's a very clean sounding record, and the definition of each of the instruments...

Well, this is kind of a cheap answer. My tape machine, the Sony APR-24 2" 24 track. I think that's about it.

EH 12AY7 - This has been talked about extensively. Alesis 3630 compressor - I don't care what you're thinking right now. I love this thing. It's noisy, unbalanced, has a useless gate, but sometimes it works really well. Never underestimate this comp. Agree with the DBX 160A. I also like the 166, but...

patchbays and +48v

I feel dumb bringing this up, becuase I really should know this. I just really don't ever need to do it. How do balanced patchbays (TT) handle phantom power running through them? For example, patching a mic to an outboard preamp. I always plug mics directly into outboard preamps with a seperate snak...

Holy shit! I wish I was in the market for a console.

What are you (Soma) going to replace it with, or are you not replacing it?
