Re: Mic pre in pedal form?
My old Digitech JamMan looper has a mic input, but it fails to run on pedal power it uses it's own AC wart.

Re: Tweeter inductance
I don't recall ever seeing inductance as a speaker parameter. Maybe it's a factory matching thing, like "use this value for L3" on the crossover. Yep, inductance is a speaker parameter. The impedance we use to represent a speaker is actually a combo of pure resistance, and the other values (capacit...

Re: On-Stage Mic Stand Fix
A few notes: Mic stands use 5/8", 27 TPI threads. Amazon will sell you an import tap and die pair in that size for not too much money. They're fine for occasionally cleaning up threads on stands. If you have those nasty cheap mic clips, with the threads in the plastic, you can force them on a regul...

On-Stage Mic Stand Fix
Dunno if anyone else needs this info. Stripped the clutch on a mic stand, turns out the bolt, not the nut was stripped. Rather than order the OEM replacement Bolt/Friction Disks/Barbell Nut pack, which seems to be out of stock anyways, I just got a new bolt. M8-25mm carriage bolt Got a pack of 2 for...

Re: digital playback device for live shows?
It's a number, you can rotate the knob to increment or decrement, whilst a loop is playing, and then its starts playing the next loop when the current one finishes. It's kind of liking having to keep track of your patch numbers for rack FX. You'd place loops for one song beside each other numericall...

Re: digital playback device for live shows?
I have an old Digitech Jamman, that stores loops as single channel 16-bit WAV files on its CompactFlash card, I think newer ones use microSD and MP3 format, but it let's you tune / edit the loop and write it to the card, and then its just another pedal. Then there's percussion things like Roland's s...

Re: Any Delta 1010LT Knowledge
Pretty sure. Channel 2 passes a signal with a hot enough input, and I recently had a storm take out a bunch of devices, LAN cards, laptop extender, my TV, garage door opener, and dishwasher. I think this is more fallout.

Any Delta 1010LT Knowledge
Anyone have any knowledge or even better schematics on these? Mine works fine, except it's stopped passing audio on the first two channels, the ones with mic preamps, so I suspect the preamp circuitry associated with them is damaged, but the ADC is OK. I'm wondering if I can somehow jack in to the b...

Re: Thunderbolt to Firewire or Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2?
Pardon my slowness, but your first sentence is that Thunderbolt is both USB and Firewire, to me that says, you just need the right cable. Thunderbolt ports carry both USB and FireWire, and I believe DisplayPort and hdmi as well. I’m not deep into the technical details, but AFAIK, usb works by plugg...

Re: Thunderbolt to Firewire or Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2?
Pardon my slowness, but your first sentence is that Thunderbolt is both USB and Firewire, to me that says, you just need the right cable. But you later state, you need to do a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 conversion, then Thunderbolt 2 to Firewire conversion to get Firewire to work? And that state...

Re: Recommend me a wild delay pedal
An old Ibanez DM-1000. The 500's are OK, but the 1000 has the Hold button. It's diry, grainy, nasty and fun :alien: Edit: I see Chris Garges mentioned an Ibanez already, it may be the same or similar, I need to check that out, but wow the prices on them have gone up, I got a pair for $40 a 500 and a...

Re: How-to Dongle?
Having never seen that movie, can't really comment, but dongle has been around a long time, my earliest recollection was the kludge on the Sinclair QL when they first launched it, so that's 1984 (says Wikipedia). Yeah, I guess I was hoping there were people here who had experience with hooking Firew...

Re: How-to Dongle?
My limited understanding was that Thunderbolt 3 is also USB-C, but not all USB-C are Thunderbolt 3? So I have USB-C ports which are also Thunderbolt-3 ports. Hence my whole Thunderbolt 3 > 2 for Firewire thingy, as it's actually in the Saffire manual. Screenshot_2021-04-26 saffire-pro-26-en pdf.png ...

Thunderbolt to Firewire or Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2?
Long story short: New recording space, new laptop. new (to me) interface. A friend is givingme his old Saffire Pro 26, and I wanted to use it with my new Laptop, so I could do recordings in a new practice space, which is not near my current gear (an M-Audio PCI card, and a Soundcraft 500). The new l...

Linux SysEx Dumps
What's the easiest way to receive a SysEx dump in Linux?
Is there some command line tool you can receive a dump from you patchboard, and then retransmit it back to it later?
