Richard Swift interview

Great recordings, very nice guy, studio just outside Portland = perfect tape op interview material.

Listen to Damian Jurado's Maraqopa and Foxygen's new album for tasty sounds made by this guy.

Thanks for the compliments! Recorded at my "studio" Silver Chord Sound. The preamps are from my Soundcraft Spirit Studio recorded into my Black Lion modded 002. AT, Oktava, Shure and Sennhieser mics. Ended up doing the mastering ourselves. Let me know if you have any other questions.

MC, talk to morespaceecho He did a mix and master of a bellmont song for me and it was awesome. I played it for Sean and he thought it was very pro sounding. I will definitely choose him for future mastering projects. Also, I vote you choose level 8 for your first digital single. It's got good ener...

Bill Callahan - Apocalypse

Yet another amazing album by Bill. The last album had a bit of discussion here and this one was also recorded by John Congleton. I would love to know any details about the recording. It sounds pretty different than 'Eagle' but still amazing. I think I read somewhere that it was all recorded live? I ...

I'm a stereo nut and I LOVE using pan positions and phase manipulation to get front-to-back depth in a mix, so I get pretty detail-oriented with the pan knobs at mix time. Chris Garges Charlotte, NC Can you expound in phase manipulation? How do you alter the phase? Other than the obvious 180 flip?
