Re: DAW Recording on Mac - Startup drive as storage drive in 2021
Hi everyone! :) My current experience/workflow is a good one. MacBook Pro connected to a Samsung T7. The T7 holds my projects and my sample libraries. So far all good. Since SSDs tend to go up in smoke with no warning, I back up to a Samsung T5 (and a secondary RAID archive on am ancient Mac Pro. Al...

Try Microphone Parts http://microphone-parts.co.uk/
for, well, microphone parts! I've built 2 of their kits - very impressed. They do ribbon parts now too.

Velcro (or similar) custom cable ties
For a while I've been making my own custom cable ties with this stuff: http://www.thomann.de/ie/tesa_cable_manager_5m.htm Thing is, when I loop it around the cable and glue it, sometimes the glue works loose after a while. Looking at commercially-made cable ties made with similar materials, I notice...

Soundcraft Series One : Transistor Upgrade
Hi everyone, thanks for your help so far with this console - the refurb. is really coming along! Some of the transistors appear to be noisy (and some are blown), so I'm going to start replacing them all, starting with the output boards. The ones Soundcraft used here are: 2SC1681 NPN TRANSISTOR 2SA 8...

Soundcraft Series One PSU
Hi all, recently rebuilt a Soundcraft Series One and I'm currently running it of my bench PSU - sounds quite nice so I'm going to finish by building a new PSU for it. There don't seem to be any off-the shelf options that suit: it's a singe rail 0-40 volt PSU. Is there a design I could adapt? I think...

going to do some didgeridoo recordings - thinking an RE 20 on the bell and an MKH 40 a little back. Any thoughts on capturing this instrument?
