South Minneapolis people
Hey everybody, I might need a favor from somebody near "South Minneapolis". Might need somebody to pick up a "sort of" vintage guitar in person from someone, then ship it to me in New Mexico. Would pay for your gas money etc. to do so. Guitar would be paid for, just need to set up a public place to ...

Smokey Amp. None dirtier. Yep. Rat nasty. Come to think of it, I own one...but don't know where it is right now. Weird. My friend has that Radio Shack "reverb" thing. I think it was designed to interface directly with thrift store Karoke machines. Or any microphone you can find at Big Lots. He owns...

Slipping belt? If it's a belt drive transport. Are you using the same tape when squeal occurs? Or does it squeal with any tape inserted. Is there a physical squeal coming from the cassette itself? Found this info also: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/1994_articles/feb94/yamahamt8x.html "The tape tra...

Info on the Babyface here: http://forum.dawbench.com/showthread.php?1548-Audio-Interface-Low-Latency-Performance-Data-Base/page2 Read post #19 USB is not really ready for prime time. And cheap interfaces + most DAW software do not actually "lock up" in perfect synch. This goes beyond most talk of "l...

Oh hey, you know what...we went a little more in depth about the "latency" thing in this thread. Read all of it: http://messageboard.tapeop.com/viewtopic.php?t=78254 I learned/explored a few things I didn't know before. And I missed them because I've been lucky with my setup (MOTU + Cubase) Basicall...

Yeah yeah, anything with a glowing "fake" tube that you can see! Especially if it has it's own knob to turn up the "tubey-ness"! or Record stuff into old cheap Karoke machines using their own mics (vomit inducing). Then playback and mic the speaker. Not that I've ever done that with a full rock band...

Reaper: http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=72721&highlight=delay+compensation+latency "Following up on this bug, I found a fix seems to be setting the lynx asio driver setting to "double buffer". Cubase 5 has two features under Device Setup. (from help file): ?Adjust for Record Latency? and ?Record Shift? You may experience that audio material you record end up in a displaced position, too early or too late. The reason for this happening is often one of the following: ? Your audio hardware r...

Found out some more on this "topic" "This is referring to converters themselves, not plugins or ASIO - PT9 can read Avid hardware's ADDA delays, where that has to be done by setting up roundtrip pings with 3rd party hardware/external gear. "Pro Tools HD accounts for converter delays when using Autom...
