Steal my idea...PLEASE
BeOS was really cool for it's time. It ran FAST on even crappy hardware. The designers said NO to any security features AT ALL. On purpose. This doomed them pretty much. Oh well, stuff comes and goes. Evolutionary steps. Now, going back to the original topic, why don't we "market" the Virtual HDR id...

Only problem with hardware recorders is eventual failure. They are made of circuit boards and therefore will eventually fail like any other cheaply made electronic device. The appeal of a HDR program for me would be it's use of COTS components. Common Off The Shelf hardware is everywhere these days,...

Holy Mountain...WOW....that was one I missed. Just reading the description is INSANE! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Holy_Mountain_%281973_film%29 George Harrison, himself a big fan of Jodorowksy's work after having seen El Topo (1970), was originally up for the role of The Thief, but disagreed wi...

I'm sure of it. Hahahaha. See, it's like we skipped a step in the evolution of computer recording here. I remember getting into Sound Forge back in 1996 or so. From there it went down that road pretty much. I was thrilled to get rid of cassette decks. I mean there was only one record button in SF an...

Well, people have been writing software. Might take a little bit but it will happen. Sure a MIDI controller would sort of do it. But it adds a little complexity for entry level people. A simple multitrack program would be instantly useable on a human level. Just like a real hardware device. Zero lea...

The "multitrack DAW editor" paradigm is the problem basically. It's stale and been done to death. It kills creativity when recording initial tracks. Gets in the way mentally. This is why reel to reel and other analog recorders are highly desired. Not just for the sound in my opinion. What people wan...

Koffee..that board looks cool. Im going to read about it. The one i was talking about , RM800 i believe. different board in the same letter line..Yours looks beefier..the 800 is more modest im sure. Yeah, it's a tank. It's 156 pounds or something. I built a custom cradle/stand for it from 2x6 Dougl...

Yeah...exactly^ I got a flashback to the time I was in a Rochester basement drumming on heavy cough syrup......It was all they had on hand there. . . . . Yes, I was actually sick ;) The track we did was pretty close to what you have going on. But I was hearing the flanger, phaser and spring reverb i...

This guy made something in Max/MSP that plays samples back and a lot more. He did up a whole interface. Go way down his page. http://robstewartsounddesign.wordpress.com/ Max/MSP also lets you make standalone programs somehow. They say you can redistribute them freely even if users don't have Max. I ...

Ride the snake man, ride the snake.... Departures is fully psychedelic. All the songs are. I like parts of that one though. And the guitar sounds on Then This Happened...right before it speeds up I gotta find my headphones. My laptop speaker ain't cuttin' it. Sounds roughly like it should. You can p...

I also wonder if this could conceivably made into a VST plugin? The virtual ADAT is already a plugin for Sonic Core. Just like I said in the original thread Snarl got the idea from. http://messageboard.tapeop.com/viewtopic.php?t=75969 I'm sure you could do a VST plugin. Anything is possible these d...
