This news just in about Logic

I'm not a user of it, I just read Ars everyday and thought I'd share this one.

Useful Format Converter?

What do you use for converting audio files from one format to another? I have a very basic rig set up, I use Audacity as my DAW, if you can call it that... Currently I don't have the MP3 plug-in converter for Audacity, partly because I don't know how good it is. So to convert to MP3 files for web di...

Dear Kinger,
Thanks for the info... and for the bonus answer. You intuited my question behind the question, which was, is there a small-footprint, low cost DAW out there that will run on somewhat older hardware and not break the bank? I'll be checking out Reaper shortly.
Thanks again,
John

Is there a Physical Mixer for Audacity?

Hi, Sorry if this has been asked here before. Is it possible to get a physical mixer (USB or Firewire) to talk to Audacity? Or was Audacity never designed to do this? Usually, I just use Audacity for live stereo work and mixing down isn't a big deal. But now I have some multiple tracks built up, and...

p.s. I should have mentioned that Bode licensed the design of the Vocoder and the Frequency Shifter to Moog Music, and then Moog fabricated them under the Moog name, while Bode continued to make them under the Bode name. So if you have a Moog Vocoder or a Moog Frequency Shifter, it's Bode's design...

Interview Suggestion: Maggi Payne

You guys should try to do an interview with Maggi Payne. http://www.mills.edu/academics/faculty/mus/maggi/maggi_cv.php Keep reading until you get to the "Recording and Editing" section. You'll get the idea. Or... just ask Nicolas Collins! Thanks for listening. p.s. full disclosure... I was a student...

Harald Bode Instruments in Studios or on Recordings?

I volunteered to work on an exhibit in a small museum near where I live on the life and work of instrument designer Harald Bode. His two most famous instruments are probably the Bode Vocoder and the Bode Frequency Shifter. More info on the exhibit is here: http://haraldbodenews.wordpress.com/ The cu...

Thank you! The JPlayer didn't show up on the Google search that I did. It yielded this:

But the JPlayer looks a bit more customizable.

Thanks again,

Good HTML 5 Embedded Player?

Hi, Anyone know of a good and easy to use embedded HTML 5 music player? Or have any experience with the topic? I've been using Soundcloud's or else Fabricio Zuardi's embedded Flash player to put playable music on web sites. But since the iPad came out, I'm looking for a Flash alternative. Thanks, John
