ADK S7b ... smooth, ribbonish, winner on the vocal your describing having trouble with.
Note that some ADK dealers have a try before you buy program.
The ADK S7b should be a winner for you.

One of the things that I love about tube mics is that you can change the character of the mic with a simple tube swap. Before you rush out and buy, be sure to bring your cymbals with you including your high hats so that you can try the ride in with what your already using! Try to find a "Zildjian 21" Sweet Ride" and play that sucker. I consider it "soft." It works well within your genre, live or for recording.

I used the Fender Blues Jr. for a while, but found that I had to "crank it" up to get the tube saturation that I was looking for out of it. After doing a lot of research and trying out many low wattage tube amps I found the Blackstar HT5 head (combined with the cabinet of your choice) to be fantasti...

Elsewhere there are some that think they sound different but when I asked John Peluso about it, he said that they sound the same.

The Shinybox iterations are wonderful. Love the 46U. Check out the Si4, four channel preamp that Jon makes. It features switchable input loading( 1.4k and 8.1k). The preamp has plenty of clean low noise gain/headroom already, [72 db in 6 db steps] but this feature really helps those ribbons sound t...

Anyone using the Peluso 2247SE?

I would like to hear from engineers that are using the Peluso 2247 SE. If you have hands on experience please leave your opinion about this mic. Thanks

Congrats ! I haven't had any hands on experience but have read everything that I could find about it. Everything was very positive and the converters are suppose to be very good as well. I would be interested in your opinion after you have used it for a while on a number of things. Also if you could...
