Ampeg SVT Classic start-up noise. . .normal?

Guys-- I just got an Ampeg SVT Classic head, and the mechanical start-up noise when I first power up the amp is pretty surprising. It's not amp hiss, but what sounds like loud fan noise and mechanical rumbling. (I used to have an older Crest power amp that made similar noise all the time, to a somew...

Pedalboard velcro

Anyone have a source online for the heavy black pedalboard velcro? I can't find it at the box stores in Charlotte anymore and Home Depot sels the grey "Ultimate" kind which ain't.

A local source in Charlotte would be ideal, but a web hookup would be great as well. thanks~

FS/FT Akai MPC-1000

Hey guys, this MPC is functionally like new and visually 8.5 of 10 (just a few small scratches on the case where the original owner racked it). BLue box, have a few cards to throw in. You'll love it, I just rarely use it and someone should. Will trade even up for a cool synth with a variety of sound...

This probably deserves its own thread, but I'm going on record that 5 string basses are cool (I'd say again, but not sure if they ever have been). It's one of those things that's been so not right for so long that it's now righter. I've just heard so (SO) many lame motherfuckers say like "dude a bas...

If you're looking for the middle ground the Tama stands beat the crap out of the OnStages and the like. They are really beefy, well made, and cost about 50 bucks from Musicians Friend.
