Yes on softer sources that you want to sound "slick and professional", (especially acoustic instruments, piano and singer/songwriter type stuff), no on loud sources. It sounds prettier in a way, but a good amount detail gets lost in my opinion.

Just decided on an SP-1, (sdc in an ldc body), that will probably get modded by Jim Williams, although, I was reeeeal tempted to go with a used MK219 I found on the 'bay for only $100. The 219 as-is sounds too boxy to me, the Joly mod would be fantastic, but from what I gathered on the site, it's $2...
